I think my dates are getting progressively worse, hahaha. However one date that I do remember in particular which was back in the 60's.
My friend and I went to Aberystwyth in Wales. He had been there a few weeks earlier and had met a girl that he liked there, we went down for the day in his first car, he was 17 and I was 16. He phoned and arranged a lunchtime meeting with the girl who he had met previously and she bought a friend with her, as my date.
We went for lunch on the beach, as there was a beach where you could drive
a car on to the sands..... As I knew how to drive a car, but was too young for a license, I took my date for a ride in the car, along the beach.
After about a mile I noticed that the car was slowing down ?? eventually it came to a halt , up to the axle, stuck in the sandy mud !!!
My friend and his date eventually arrived as we were trying to get the car out of the mud, so the 4 of us were trying to get this car out of the mud by digging away with our hands and jamming things under the tyres for them to grip. Mud was flying everywhere.
We then noticed that the tide was coming in !! After what seemed like an eternity, we eventually managed to get it moving and back to solid ground before the tide sunk it. We were all absolutely plastered in mud and debris, the girls clothes were ruined. Needless to say, after dropping them off, we never saw them again. That was one date I will never forget.

Pirate In Bar

A pirate walked into a bar and the bartender said, 'Hey, I haven't seen you in a while. What happened? You look terrible.'

'What do you mean?' said the pirate, 'I feel fine.'

Bartender, 'What about the wooden leg? You didn't have that before.'

Pirate, 'Well, we were in a battle and I got hit with a cannon ball, but I'm fine now.'

Bartender, 'Well, OK, but what about that hook? What happened to your hand?'

Pirate, 'We were in another battle. I boarded a ship and got into a sword fight. My hand was cut off. I got fitted with a hook. I'm fine, really.'

'Bartender 'what about that eye patch?'

Pirate, 'Oh, one day we were at sea and a flock of birds flew over. I looked up and one of them shit in my eye.'

'You're kidding,' said the bartender, 'you lost an eye just from bird shit.'

Pirate, 'It was my first day with the hook.'

I have met a load of ex pat's, very few try it with children though. Always remember that the grass is not always greener on the other side.
