dcj,

I have an on-line friend that lives in Tennessee. He lives alone on some beautiful mountainous property and I think he needs a nice companion. Maybe one of your dogs would love a home with him? I'll contact him tonight and see what he says. angel

I agree that it's dreadfully selfish and desperate to do such a thing. On one hand, we can judge, on the other who are we to judge? I think it's a double edged sword sort of thing....

If common sense and forward thinking about who that decision will affect were put into use....dunno

One of my best friends is a caregiver and has been ever since I've known her. I admire what she does and for her care and compassion to others is extraordinary. May we all have someone so dedicated to us in our later years. angel

I was trained as an opera singer (I know, I know, a rancher who sings opera?) in my youth and even auditioned for the New York Metropolitan Opera. Sadly, a singer took a dislike to me (Jessye Norman) and I passed on the spot with them. Perhaps it was meant to be... I now work doing my first love of caring for animals and they get free concerts! laugh angel

rolling on the floor laughing Claire!

I have a deep belief in God, but now consider myself far more spiritual if anything else. As a rancher I find that I pray for many things- the health and happiness of friends and family, for a good hay crop, for the health and well-being of my pets and livestock, for rain, for sunshine and any other reason that may come up. I have Faith that my prayers will be answered and sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't. I suppose it's because God (or whom/what one believes in) determines that in the end. I have learned to accept that and to go on by saying, "Ok, fine, fair enough" and going on to something else. Some things are just beyond my power and there's other things and people to pray for.

What's great about faith and life is that I have many friends of all faiths and some of no faith at all. What's really cool is that we all learn something from one another. wine angel
