dcj22: I have a gold satin box that my daughter brought out this evening. It contains my collection of gloves. They are mostly from the 1930's, 40's, and 50's. And most were given to me by my mother. I have church gloves, and kidskin driving gloves, evening gloves that come just below the elbow, just above the elbow, and almost to the shoulder.
My most prized pair is a pair that my grandmother crocheted for my mother when my mum was a girl. They have a buttlerfly on the back of the hand and are lovely.
I also have a collection of old hats from the 1920's to the 60's.Do you have any collections?
OOOHHH!!! I'm just drooling at your glove collection. I've worn opera-length gloves for a black-tie affair several years ago. I felt like a queen. I love Victorian and vintage things and have a very soft spot for that period of time in history.
I collect horse bridles of any sort, horse memorabilia, Old West windmills and figurines of them (There's just something so timeless ,yet peacefull about them. Like they've seen it all and still blow on in the wind),stuffed toy teddy bears, angel figurines (pins, earrings, etc..) stuffed toy wolves and anything wolf related along with anything that has to do with cats and dogs.
