Yes, without a doubt, sexual chemistry is definately a necessity for a couple to have a healthy realtionship. Without ther would be no relationship at all.
However, even this is no garantee for a relationship to work. Living together is much more complicated then good sex.
Beyond the marriage or fixed relationship argument howeve, there are other situaions that one faces which go far beyond any form expalnation.
U walk in a room and you get a pair of eyes looking at yours. In that instance, at that moment in time, everything else stops being important. Pure sexual energy.
u explore, you experience and u part.
Two meteors that hit, bounce off each other, and keep on going.
Things like this happens too.

Unless of course one is still living in societies that are still absed on issues that were existant in western society during the middle ages, better referred to as The Dark Age.
So, yeh, sex is a part (hence "a part") of most relationships.... But, from my experience, I have learned that sex can be enjoyable with whom I decide to cross that path with, but living with someone forever, that's another story...... Sex is just a small part of that big (lets spend life together for ever or lets pay lawyers all this money for nothing) puzzle
