I've only been on a brief visit to Ireland, so don't know if this issue is about the culture there or what. In the States I had a couple of long term relationships with black men, one three years long. Some people look, but I don't think most were staring or had looks of distaste. Anyway, I just ignore it. I got used to it early on as one of my first boyfriends, in high school, was a black guy. Maybe in the States we're more used to seeing interracial couples. Anyway, in the long run, it shouldn't matter at all what other people think--different culture, race--whatever. It could be a problem when/if there are children, but my observation is that strong, thoughtful parenting can overcome that, or anything else.

Recently befriended a great guy that is a potential 'more than friends.'

Anyway the point of this I notice when we go out some people blatantly stare...( he is dark-skinned..well caramel to be exact as he is half Jamaican..and fine!)
I find their distasteful looks to be absurd in this day and age..I have dated a few men of other cultures and never really consider it a problem.
It got me to thinking about interracial relationships and the problems that arise with exogamy...what are your thoughts and do you consider it acceptable to both yourself and your extended family??

I do realize that in modern time this concept has been technologically
advanced, so is not a requirement today. But if you go back in
history.......you needed two to make the 6 billion, we have here today.

You say those are unfounded claims and total distortions (when did I say this?). When you ladies got empowered with the vote and with women's liberation...and became this majority...seems to me that you also got to take blame when something goes wrong. Seems like a lot has gone wrong. (http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html according to this, women dont make up the majority of the workforce hun, men do, and, if YOU want to point fingures at who is running things, this info will better direct you. I am fine eitherway, no matter who is running what.)
You say we were not doing this. We did not have a woman in the Presidency....a man was there. (ok, I must ask you, when did we have this argument? I dont remember saying these things, and I think you have me confused with someone else, eitherway, one thing is for sure, even with all of this, you, Tom, would NOT be here if it were not for your MOTHER and FATHER, and with that, my vote isnt for a women president, at least not the woman who is running now, it is for Obama, although, I think a woman could do the job just as effectively as a man.
