YesWho: I go to singles groups ,singles dances,bowling.I just started dateing some one from a dance on Dec. 13th.We met 4 years ago and met her again that night.As the saying goes the rest is history.You also can met someone in Church.

I met my last husband at a singles dance.

No dances here in Maine.

My best bet here is to stand out on the front steps with a beer in my hand and wave to the snowmoile guys going by

Maevelette: SO theres the Countdown for New Years...
and you're supposed to kiss someone special when it reaches the new year...yeah well for the single couples, its not so fun, just reminding you you're alone and its a new year, no fun.
So how's about this?
Get a gig of your friends ( just for safety) and set up a date with someone on here, someone that your attracted to and plan on meeting them.... you never know!!! It would be a new exciting safe way to meet a special someone, or someone just to talk to.... think about it.

Back when I was 25 and lived in some place populated by college age people (not Maine), that was what happened on New Years Eve.

And when I was in my 40's in New Hampshire, there were singles dances every Friday, Saturday and sometimes Sunday night. People in Southern Maine showed up at New Hampshire and Massachusetts dances for lack of dances near them.

But now I'm here in Maine, where every thing is NOT within driving distance and if you're not in your twenties and hanging out at the bars....

....it's Happy New Year at home alone

But now I see that there are few left here who consider the feelings of others.

Even the moderators are bending the rules, letting some break the rules and cleaning up the evidence while scolding others who are simply making a joke.

tina_olson: I am someone who loves to read the forums and have even jumped in on occasion but yes sometimes I feel like an outsider intruding in a private conversation....Try to not be a judgemental person and have always had a good sense of humor and will always keep reading then--they are addictive...

I feel the same as tina....I've become an outsider.

Now I usually just read instead of posting.

Plus, I have yet to have a date from this dating site...so what's the use
