My parents divorced when I was 12.
I began a new life.
Started smoking pot and hash.
Then acid and mescaline.
At 14, I was a heroin addict, until 16.
Then I began working so I didn't get high very often.
When I was in the service, I became an alcoholic and smoke weed every night too.
In my thirties, I started doing crank, then crystal meth.
I almost lost my mind and my life.
I met Jesus and he took all the fears and addictions away and gave me a new mind. He filled me with a love I had never known before. I found self-worth. I no longer desired anything to master me. I had gained self-control. When I drink, I usually have one or two, then stop. If I feel like I am getting a buzz, I will stop. Don't want to lose control. I drink lots of WATER. Still have my one cup of coffee in the morning to get me going and a cup at night when I am driving, to keep me awake. I am a much better person now that all the drugs are out of my life!

I'm unemployed....not by choice. The last company I worked for downsized and I got the boot. And to make matters worse, I can't seem to get another job anywhere. I don't understand, I have sent my resume out more times than I can count, applied online for jobs that I have loads of experience doing, and all I get are offers to sell insurance or automobiles. My resume is professionally written...I paid dearly for it.. I'm not asking for a ton of money, but still no one calling for an interview. My self esteam is suffering here!!!! I'm getting desperate right now and am seriously considering flipping burgers so I can make enough money to buy milk and bread. Any sugggestions out there?

I have a female buddy who is 56yr.. she has terrible back problems..

she is a squeaky clean.. non drinking smoking lady.

and SHE takes dope for her back (in yoghurt) .. she says its HEAVEN and better than any meds she is prescribed.

The person I know/knew (as I no longer have contact) I knew from childhood and know this person's behavior was anti-social (for want a better word) from a very young age. Again, this person did not suffer from any abuse, neglect, etc. Quite the contrary, in fact. This person has siblings who are all normal. There was no brain damage and no other disorders were ever diagnosed. This person has been diagnosed by a psychiatrist as a psychopath...I see no reason for it unless there is a genetic defect....or just plain evilness...which I don't believe in...that's an outdated idea...

The Fifth Child is a novel by Nobel Prize-winner Doris Lessing. The story is about a normal family whose fifth child disrupts their happy middle class existence because of his seriously anti-social behavior. As parents, they do all the normal, nurturing things we expect parents to do, and their other children are fine. When the fifth child has behaviorial problems, they do all the things you are supposed to do and seek all the help society has to offer to help him. Nothing works, and eventually, because as he grows older he becomes more and more evil, they, sadly, decide that the only thing they can do for the rest of the family to survive is to just write him off.

The point of the story is to ask whether or not some people are just born bad, and it doesn't matter what their gene pool is or what kind of home life they are given as children.

Do you agree or not with this idea: is there such a thing as a bad seed? Are some people just born bad?
