It is amazing how we deceive ourselves, or how we just don't realize how things control us. We might be good a recognizing the more obvious traps like flesh, fortune, or fame. But we fail to see how those things we just "can't live without" have a hold on us. Wayne Myers would come to speak at CFNI every year. We affectionately called it "Wayne Myers week". It was the week that Wayne Myers inspired us to give all our stuff away. I remember those weeks well, for the freedom we experienced in those times were the most incredible releases many of us had ever felt. We gave away our favorite clothes, music, books, and keep sakes. We gave away our money, our cars, and our most well protected valuables. It was amazing. I wish I could have been more courageous in those days. I mostly lived on the testimonies of those who gave big. But it was the attitude of generosity saturating our campus on those weeks, that was truly amazing. Mr. Myers, who gives most everything he receives (millions of dollars a year), would say "generosity is not how much you give, it’s how much you keep". If you cannot give it away, it just might have an unhealthy hold on you. It just might own you.

The same could be said for most things in your life. The object may not be bad in and of itself, but it could hold you back from doing something good in your life. This could even go for something positive, like a great talent. It is out of our weakness that we are made strong (Hebrews 11:34). Even in those things which might be considered bad, might be the key to unlocking something great in your life. "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." Second Corinthians 12:9

I guess we could easily say that the more you give TO God, the more you get OF God.

Hi Everybody,

I have joined “Connecting Singles” just today. Actually I’m new in the world of dating on-line. I have never tried it before. But I thought try it. Still, I’m not sure if this site is serious or is simply a hoax, i.e. gimmicks.

I checked some profiles and emailed their owners. But I have not received yet any reply. If I do not get any reply, i.e. none is interested in writing to me, then it is one of two things. Either I’m not interesting enough, or the whole thing is gimmicks.

The reason I’m looking for a girl-friend over the Internet is that my relationship with my wife has gone sour. And in Bielefeld, a kind of province, it is extremely difficult to get to know people.

I guess i am going to be a very irritating mum too ..

I do agree it all starts at home .. 100% but parents can be friends. A lit of this and a little of that as and when needed. I guess what is lacking is that bond of love and care. Many times its not time but its that lack of security within thats lacking. Its upto us to give it and make them feel it.

I believe there ought to be certain moral codes followed in the family and followed by the parents first for
the kids to look up and feel and learn. One cant instil very well what one has no clue about.

Its basically a deficient family support system and parenting i think.
