My aunt and uncle have just left and my uncle Tom had the most amazing testimonial to God that I have heard in a long time, he was actually cured of cancer by prayer and the laying of hands... and not just any old cancer, it had spread from his prostrate, to his bowel and part of his bladder, under ordinary circumstances the outlook would have been pretty dismal... I asked him tonight how he became a Christian, and he said thats how... he was cured of cancer... simple as that, he was referred to as 'the miracle man' in hospital... amasing huh..

Anyone else have any amazing stories to share???teddy bear

It doesn't so much bug me as baffle me... I love trying new things.. so I just don't see the point of having something that you could russle up in a few minutes at home... having said that some 'posh' restaurants do simple dishes like Sausages and mashed potatoes, but just do it reaaaaly well... I think that can be worth it

It is amazing how we deceive ourselves, or how we just don't realize how things control us. We might be good a recognizing the more obvious traps like flesh, fortune, or fame. But we fail to see how those things we just "can't live without" have a hold on us. Wayne Myers would come to speak at CFNI every year. We affectionately called it "Wayne Myers week". It was the week that Wayne Myers inspired us to give all our stuff away. I remember those weeks well, for the freedom we experienced in those times were the most incredible releases many of us had ever felt. We gave away our favorite clothes, music, books, and keep sakes. We gave away our money, our cars, and our most well protected valuables. It was amazing. I wish I could have been more courageous in those days. I mostly lived on the testimonies of those who gave big. But it was the attitude of generosity saturating our campus on those weeks, that was truly amazing. Mr. Myers, who gives most everything he receives (millions of dollars a year), would say "generosity is not how much you give, it’s how much you keep". If you cannot give it away, it just might have an unhealthy hold on you. It just might own you.

The same could be said for most things in your life. The object may not be bad in and of itself, but it could hold you back from doing something good in your life. This could even go for something positive, like a great talent. It is out of our weakness that we are made strong (Hebrews 11:34). Even in those things which might be considered bad, might be the key to unlocking something great in your life. "And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." Second Corinthians 12:9

I guess we could easily say that the more you give TO God, the more you get OF God.

very true.... one thing I have noticed in the last few months since I have become a Christian... is that God is intent on making me face all these sides of my personality that I didn't even know existed.. he moulds you, brings you to your knees, strips you back to the core and builds you up from there...cause we are of no service to him if we are still of the world...

Hi Everybody,

I have joined “Connecting Singles” just today. Actually I’m new in the world of dating on-line. I have never tried it before. But I thought try it. Still, I’m not sure if this site is serious or is simply a hoax, i.e. gimmicks.

I checked some profiles and emailed their owners. But I have not received yet any reply. If I do not get any reply, i.e. none is interested in writing to me, then it is one of two things. Either I’m not interesting enough, or the whole thing is gimmicks.

The reason I’m looking for a girl-friend over the Internet is that my relationship with my wife has gone sour. And in Bielefeld, a kind of province, it is extremely difficult to get to know people.

What do you think?
Sami

Hiya it is a serious site tho it is also good for the forums, so some are just here for that.... I agree also the that best time to start a new relationship is when the old one is over... if youa are still in the other one it could be an indication that there is still hope (for the relationship that is)

If God gives a gift... then shouldn't we be using for his ends?... not letting it be utilised by other entities... with every good thing comes a measure of responsibility....

Really and truly read the post about the girl who was told her unfaithful woman bashing bf was 'the one' by a fortune teller... or my friend who was being re-directed away from her husband by a fortune teller... the fortune tellers don't know that they are being used in this way, but they are.... spirits that do not come from God lie, they will entice by partial truths, but they are ultimately in the business of lying...

Anyhoo.... got to go wave cheers

Hey.... its ok to hate the behaviour and love the person.... thing is... the occult is dangerous.. full stop... no doubt it is mysterious and fun, and if you have the gift, it can give you a sense of power... but its dangerous, cause you don't know where this power or energy is coming from... .personally I think it highly unlikely that it is coming from God.... given that he expressly forbids it.. in strong and not uncertain language... I get the impression that you are a really nice lady and probably very spiritual... just ya know maybe be objective and examine the possiblilities...

hug

I'm sorry you feel that way...but, you're entitled to your beliefs. I totally disagree with you, though, for any insight given by the Universe is from Divine Energy, and that's not flawed.

Hiya... no problem.... do you believe that there is only one form of energy out there?.... even witches in the Dark ages believed in negative and positive forces.... the laws of physics and the laws of the universe dictate this also as does eastern philosophies i.e. yin yan that kind of thing.... is it your belief that it is only possible for us (to draw from one single source.. ?

At last I snatched them back and
cried,
"How can YOU be so slow?"
"My child," He said,

I guess i am going to be a very irritating mum too ..

I do agree it all starts at home .. 100% but parents can be friends. A lit of this and a little of that as and when needed. I guess what is lacking is that bond of love and care. Many times its not time but its that lack of security within thats lacking. Its upto us to give it and make them feel it.

I believe there ought to be certain moral codes followed in the family and followed by the parents first for
the kids to look up and feel and learn. One cant instil very well what one has no clue about.

I guess you are just nicer kids or something in your neck of the woods.... I wasn't my mums 'friend' until I left home... our relationship was good by all accounts, but in particular as a teenager I thought she was a nightmare... looking back I appreciate what she did... at the time... uh uh.. b***h from h** laugh

really ?? i thought this was alarming enough .. ohh ..

Its basically a deficient family support system and parenting i think.

Hiya wave hug.. thing is it all starts at home... for a family to work and be functional.. parents have to be parents and not 'friends' it can't work any other way, and kids have to know that if they step over the line there are consequences...

Also many parents give up too easy concluding that 'they can't be there every minute.... sure they can!!! I would be all over my teenager like a rash if they weren't home when they were meant to.... after the embarrasment of me picking them up from school for a month they would eventually realise that what I say goes laugh
