Prior to these 'laws' being introduced the woman would have be punished and untouchable and would have starved through lack of social welfare....she would have been considered used and dirty and nobody would marry her...while in our present day context this sounds horrific... at that time directing marriage was a considerable improvement on the situation which preceded it.... the Bible has to be read in this context... later in the new testament Jesus explains the the law was harsh because the people of that time had hard hearts...

Jesus himself represents the new covenant and replaces all these old laws with two commands which emcompass all... love the father with all your heart, soul and mind and love ur neighbour as yourself...

Jesus heralded a new way, a new beginning which is altogether more compassionate....

SeriouslyFun: I met a woman in the real world, and we have emailed and then talked on the phone. We are very interested in each other. What are the pitfalls or things to look out for? Anyone have this experience?

Seriously fun, you are kind of betraying your namesake confused... what is seriously fun about anticipating the 'pit falls' and negatives before you even embark on a relationship with someone.... all relationships have a certain risk attached to them, but that should be no reason to not embark on them...

The main thing is to get to know one another, spend time together... chemistry can't be manufactured so nature takes care of the rest..

good luck!!

Hiya Ramsgumby... it suprises me the apparent contrast that is going on in America.. on the one hand your polititions has to pander big time to the evangelical Christians... on the other.. your religious freedoms are being eroded... what is going on do you think... I am confused... If Obama starts eroding freedoms further, I will be very worried...

sameeh111: I did not know that this site allows for repugnant racial some retarded attack on Arabs and a satire of culture and religion while the West is the whole underdevelopment, degradation and debauchery and prostitution is our religion and culture

Hello... can I attempt to single handedly apologize for any ignorant and small minded comments that have been made against your country.. people normally make such comments on the basis of ignorance, I also blame the media for alot of this anger.. media in your part of the world an ours.... our media wants us to believe that you are all a pack of religion obsessed wife beaters.... and your media likes to give the impression that we are all a pack of sick perverts engaging in one constant orgy of alcohol, drugs and debauchery.... this is not the case... in your world and in ours most people just want to find love, work, raise their family.. thats the length and breadth of it.. MOST people want the same basic things..

I urge you all to please think and question the possible agenda of this hatred incitement... where is it leading... and who is it going to benefit? us??...... nah.. its never for our benefit.. sigh

Im sorry but you can't just simply answer that question with a yes or no.... it would require a full evaluation on a scale of one to ten... the reason being is that sometimes people are sooo humble and so unassuming.... other times I am a proud ass and ego gets involved... over all I would say a lil more humble than ur average person.. but a simple 'yes' or 'no' heck what planet are you on??? laugh

venere08: I wish I had Twenty years ago. The man was wonderful. A doctor and he really liked me. He hated how my husband treated me. But I was still married, even though it was at tail end of it. In the end, the guy went off to England and Ireland to work for a while, and came back with an Irish lass, married, had kids and lived happily ever after.

So, yep, I probably should have!

Enjoy yourself, cristina. Just don't deliberately set out to hurt anyone in the process, and you will be fine. Having said this, give yourself some space as well.

Silence and solitude are very important for healing and growth.

Hiya... gosh that sounds pretty devastating.. though I am a firm believer in meant to be.. I do have HUGE respect for your loyalty though.. and though it wasn't immediately profitable it was still something worthwhile....

The thing is we just never know do we? it could be that you got together and didn't work out...u did the right thing though that is something you can be sure of.. hug hug

I agree all seems a bit dodgy to me....... and what is the poll supposed to mean...

Sweetie.... despite your alleged cuteness I am afraid you are going to have to acquire a better command of the English language as well as a slightly more humble approach... also I am not sure that a free dating site is your ideal networking avenue

Good luck cheers

fireliter: would it be an adverse thing or the silver lining of the this dark economic cloud that covers the world?

I know this is almost too simplistic a question, but where does all this money go?? it does not disintegrate... which means someone has it... for every debit there is a corresponding credit.. golden rule of accountancy..

fireliter: Greed is the culprit of all these current problems.

over the top safety rules and regulations... ex. cannot change a light bulb in a factory because you are not an electrician.

I'm still confused as to why insurance companies and banks get bailouts and manufacturers don't. Last I heard AIG still has a fleet of private jets. yet that never was mentioned. No, if one type of business/corporation can receive assistance then any and all types of businesses should be afforded the same. they all are entwined in some fashion.

If they had said "NO" to all those before the Big 3, only then would i say "No'.

Still I think for every "yes" given, more and more are going to ask for the same.... and why not? lets level the playing field or allow them all to falter and crash, from the rubble a new and better system can be initiated.

I know!! a fleet of jets would bring in some cash surely...

I defo think these are the end times... we are setting ourselves up for globalisation, a complete restructuring of the financial markets, a gradual decline of civil rights, more civil unrest and discontentment... its like reading the book of revelation.. all we need now is some figure to rish from the dark and provide a short term miraculous solution to our woes and the Antichrist will be at our midst... sigh

Aries01 Dublin, Dublin Ireland
fireliter: A Japanese company (Toyota) and an American company (Ford Motors) decided to have a canoe race on the Missouri River Both teams practiced long and hard to reach their peak performance before the race.

On the big day, the Japanese won by a mile.

The Americans, very discouraged and depressed, decided to investigate the reason for the crushing defeat. A management team made up of senior management was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action.

Their conclusion was the Japanese had 8 people rowing and 1 person steering, while the American team had 7 people steering and 2 people rowing.

Feeling a deeper study was in order; American management hired a consulting company and paid them a large amount of money for a second opinion.

They advised, of course, that too many people were steering the boat, while not enough people were rowing.

Not sure of how to utilize that information, but wanting to prevent another loss to the Japanese, the rowing team's management structure was totally reorganized to 4 steering supervisors, 2 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering manager.

They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 2 people rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the 'Rowing Team Quality First Program,' with meetings, dinners and free pens for the rowers. There was discussion of getting new paddles, canoes and other equipment, extra vacation days for practices and bonuses. The pension program was trimmed to 'equal the competition' and some of the resultant savings were channeled into morale boosting programs and teamwork posters.

The next year the Japanese won by two miles.

Humiliated, the American management laid-off one rower, halted development of a new canoe, sold all the paddles, and canceled all capital investments for new equipment. The money saved was distributed to the Senior Executives as bonuses.

The next year, try as he might, the lone designated rower was unable to even finish the race (having no paddles,) so he was laid off for unacceptable performance, all canoe equipment was sold and the next year's racing team was out-sourced to India .

Sadly, the End.

Here's something else to think about: Ford has spent the last thirty years moving all its factories out of the US , claiming they can't make money paying American wages.

TOYOTA has spent the last thirty years building more than a dozen plants inside the US . Until lately...
TOYOTA was making billions in profits while Ford racked up billions in losses.

until recently,
Ford folks where still scratching their heads, and collecting bonuses... and now wants the Government to 'bail them out' .

IF THIS WEREN'T SO TRUE IT MIGHT BE FUNNY

thumbs up.. excellent post... there is way too much bullshit and not enough integrity..

StressFree: It sure is to a lot of American women...especially in California...

When a woman immediately asks what I do...I am put off. She's either not creative enough or socially intelligent enough to get to know me as me....not judge me by my job and my estimated wealth that is accompanied by my job.

It's a set up for a relationship built on eggshells. I've even had a woman ask me what kind of car I drive like within the first few minutes of meeting her...I told her don't worry about it.

I just want somebody who is real and straight up. Not somebody who is after an image or status.

I'm not poor and I'm not rich. But I think my greatest wealth is what's inside me....and my health...lol

Anyways...carry on women....this is interesting.

That is just sooo sad and pathetic isn't it? sigh... honestly, I would prefer a guy who has direction so a beer swigging unemployed person who has no intention of ever working wouldn't get a look in.. TBH.. as long as the person has self respect and respect for others...

StressFree: The concept of the paradigm shift can be found in the bible (Rev. 21-22) Aries as well as in other spiritualities...especially among the indigenous prophecies. From Rev. 21-22:

"I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first time heaven and the first earth were passed away...."

I agree, it's not going to be a smooth transition. Gotta endure the storms before we get the rainbow.

We can see and feel the effects all around us as the world prepares to shift into a new dimension. Science and Astrology can even confirm this. I have observed that the earth itself is changing it's vibration and frequency, and it's preparing to raise itself into a new dimension. " Time is actually speeding up (or collapsing). For thousands of years the Schumann Resonance or pulse of Earth has been 7.83 cycles per second. The military have used this as a very reliable reference. However, since 1980 this resonance has been slowy rising. It is now over 12 cycles per second! This means there is the equivalent of less than 16 hours per day instead of the old 24 hours."
This would confirm that the frequency and vibration is speeding up and time is shorting Aries. Supposedly, we are entering a shift as said in the bible and confirmed by science.

We are all talking about the same thing, but in a different way.

By these calculations we would lose a day every three days, i.e. that you would wake up for work and morning would be later and later to such a degree that we would wake up on the third day in the middle of the night...I am confused....

trish123: Thanks so much Hugz an SF - i figured you may like a little more; The Shift to the New Reality

The Shift is the mass awakening of humanity’s heart. This transformation of consciousness, the greatest one ever recorded, first became apparent in the mid-1960s and has been building momentum ever since.

The Shift is a collective transformation consisting of the sum of each individual’s step forward into the New Reality. Each person, in their own time, is moving forward into a new stage of consciousness, one which brings a wider vista and an awareness that springs from the heart.

In the early 1960s, just one in fifty adults had reached this new awareness. Today, according to extensive surveys, more than one in four adults in the United States and Europe have moved into the heart space which forms the nucleus of The Shift.

The New Reality is not something vague. It is as real as the notes on a piano keyboard. It has a specific frequency, as this book will reveal. Each stage of human consciousness resonates to a specific note within the musical octave. This new stage of consciousness resonates to the note F sharp. When a person’s consciousness reaches a frequency that resonates with F sharp, then - and not before then - they discover unconditional love and the ability to envision a future filled with hope and peace.

The New Reality is about discovering your true potential, about living your highest joy and serving others in the way that best fulfils your highest purpose. It’s about cooperation instead of competition. It’s about becoming a whole person in mind, body and spirit.

The Shift to the New Reality brings to each individual a sense of greater freedom, greater joy and personal fulfillment.

The Shift to the New Reality is all about heart-powered consciousness.

This baffles me Trish... you can accept wishy washy new age without question but you can't accept God dunno....

what you describe was prophesised in the Bible centuries ago.. long before Christ walked the earth... we are indeed entering an awareness of the Spiritual realm... but its not going to be all peace and love.. it is a case of... there is light.. and there is dark and we have to chose..

Marillynslife: According to the ancient people that love and honesty is the best foundation is relationship thats begin in our self,we cant found true love without honesty,we cant love if we are not honest.will you agree?if NO WHY?

Yes I agree..... love and honesty are hugely important and yes they do have to begin with self... the thing is if we are not happy in ourselves..or, are insecure we find it hard to trust and be ourselves, because we don't like ourselves.. this is like a pervasive cancer to a relationship...
