Hi Chele;
Thanks for the welcome. I do the international forums, too. However, still hoping to meet that special male for dating, from this area. Doesn't look too hopeful! Not many here in the right age category!dancing banana

Obama for President!! We need a change and I think he's got what it takes to lead this country in the right direction. The fact that he's black (half white and half black) should be of no consequence. As for the "ass kissing responsibility", I don't think we'll see that in him.

I also believe that Michelle will make an imposing, attractive, intelligent, amazing first lady. They will both make us proud to be Americans. JMHOapplause

No Ambrose; I meant women over 40-50. Just going by what I've been told by men. I don't expect anyone under that age to understand, except men who've experienced it, and women who are aready there. applause
Let me just say this. Young women are in for a wonderful surprise when they get to that milestone.heart beating

Did not mean to imply that we should be "in love" in order to have sex. Although, like some said, making love is much better. But if we all waited 'til we were in love, who knows when that would be!

I like Shipoker's answer. Just about summed it up for all of us, I think.

For me, there would have to be caring and emotional attachment, to some extent.

As for the age reference, I was speaking from my viewpoint, at way over 50!grin

dcj; I said obviously over 50 because I just assume that 40 is still considered young. But, since we all age everyday, I should not have put an age on it. You're right. applause Actually 50-60 is still young, (to me) but sometimes that's the age at which libido seems to diminish for some.

Obviously, this question is directed to those over 50, but all can jump in. I'd say definitely more! Aging gracefully depends a lot on one's emotional, physical, mental and spiritual health. Having a healthy, active sex life contributes greatly, to all of that. At any age, sex without emotional attachment is empty. Sadly enough, some seniors are having sex just for sex, and that then becomes foolish sex, and I don't consider that to be healthy. But in a caring, perhaps loving relationship, I think sex is very important as we age.heart beating

Ulimaroa, I have to agree with you, to some extent. I think that it is the dream world thing in a lot of cases. On-line relationships can be romantic and perfect. You don't have to see the other person at their worst, only with their best foot/face forward.

While I believe that some are the real thing, like Don said, your observation is probably more true in most cases. I, personally, can't see myself living out a relationship by posting about my personal life online. I have been on forums while I was in a relationship, but not with someone from that site, and I said nothing about it in my posts.

It does seem that people are being applauded, like winning a contest, once they start dating someone. How many actually become a real couple, and are some jumping the gun by proclaiming they have found someone before the relationship is solidified? Just my observation.

But, to each his own. If some can find joy in imaginary relationships, who are we to judge. I say go for whatever lights up your life.cheering heart wings

Don, that was a great answer to my questions. What a romantic you are! I'm glad to hear that you found your love on here, and that you continue to romance her via this site. I wasn't implying that there is anything wrong with you or anyone being here. Was just wondering why. I know these forums can be addictive, and you have let me know they can also be useful even within a marriage. Good for you!applause

I don't see how that could be cheating if you've never met any of them. It is sometimes necessary to converse with several in order to determine if there is a possibility of taking it further. Once you've met and decided to be exclusive, then it would be cheating. Key words in your post are "possible relationship". Unless you're in a committed relationship, I don't see it as cheating.dancing banana

I love both. Being a morning person, I like nothing better than taking an early morning walk and watching the sunrise. But, sunsets are equally as beautiful. As I said in my profile, I love sunrises, sunsets and rainbows.

I notice that now, on dating sites, when two people hook up, they don't leave! They continue on, with pics of them and their SO together, which is really cute.

But, is this the new face of dating sites? Do people become addicted and can't stand to leave? Or do they just want to stay to communicate with others here? Or, are they still thinking something better may come their way?

Are people settling and hooking up, just to say they have someone? What is the attraction of a dating site after you've already found what you were looking for?uh oh! dropping jaw

In my opinion, being muslim or christian has nothing to do with one's ability or qualifications for running this country. I feel that Clinton or Obama are both more than qualified and would take this country in the right direction. No, I don't feel that "Woe is me! This coiuntry is headed for disaster!". I think this is the greatest country in the world, and I'm proud to be an American. Having said that, I will add that whoever wins the election will have to do a better job than the current administration. BTW, I didn't read your whole post.

Thought I'd check the profiles to see if anymore here in my age category, or even close. So, if you ladies and gentlemen from my area see that I have viewed yours, don't read anything into it. Just checking. Found a few. Hopefully, more will come on board. cool wave

Just found this site and decided to jump in. Would like to know if there are others here from Indy? I'm looking for new friends, since at my age, they seem to be dropping off for one reason or another. While I just keep skippin' right along. Guess it's in the genes, but I forgot to grow olddancing banana Does that make me weird? Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning, and contributing some profound stuff here. So, hello to all of you wonderful people! Let the fun begin.angel
