I am sure the whales were not japanese or chinese. She would have been surely more co-operative if they were in African waters.

Hi Scooterman...Sorry for being late with my advice. I am always late anyway!!!!!
You want a tried and tested remedy to stop smoking?? Not expensive?? I did it and no smoking for 13 years now.

Here it goes: When you have a crave for a cigarette; drink hot water instead. At first you start drinking loads of hot water and visiting the bathroom more often than usual. This will slow down very quickly. It is the heat from the cigarette which calms your system and you are replacing that bead heat with clean heat from the hot water.

This remedy will also put you off drinking alcohol without you knowing it.

You should be abhorring cigarettes within 3 weeks at most.

Sorry to be late on this one. But I am always late anyway!!

The best thing to do on your first date is TO LISTEN more than talk. This way your partner will talk more as everyone likes to be listened to.
Hence the English saying "Silence is GOLDEN".

If we think of our honesty being thrown back to our faces; Then thinbk of the Maltese saying:(translated)" If you tummy could contain a loaf but could not contain a word; what are you expecting others to do??"

So Listen and get excited but ensure that the box taking your "shit" does not have any springs inside.

Maruska,

Your Life is yours and no one of us can tell you what to do.
However it seems that all of us are giving you the same basic advice.
Kick every one out of your life and start afresh. Do not let any guy use you for testers. Your are the lady and you have the power to use the crawling guys for testing. Use that Power and you see us all men beg you dearly.

Use brains for gains. Soft hearts are only good for Candy ... if you know what I mean.
Take care

Hi Maruska,

I do not usually pass any comments on personal relationships; but I feel that you need some time to think clearly and properly.

Ask yourself a few questions:
1. If you were in a "stressed situation" and left this guy and then you want him back. Do you really believe that he would have accepted you back after he is seeing some one else?
2. If the answer to 1. above is yes - would you believe that he would really drop his present GF to take you in his heart again?
3. Do you want HIM or his MUM? Are you buying a package? This goes for both guys. What was the hurry to rope you in to meet MOM?
4. Are they both MOM's boys? If so their affection is only childish and will soon wear out when exposed to the difficult situations of marriage.

Please accept my apologies if I sound too much paternistic. If you werer my daughter I would have given you the same advice.

OMG! There is now a health warning on the standard energy saving bulbs we use in Europe:

1.) There is a small amount of mercury in them and if you break one you need to dispose of it carefully.

2.) For some people with certain susceptabilities to skin disorders the low energy bulbs can bring on or worsen these conditions.

I guess it's back to burning sheep fat in oil lanterns, and a little whale blubber for the lucky few?

Again I hope I am not too late with my input.
In U.K. one can find both ebergy saving lamps as well a light tube which are energy saving and which are very healthy to use. They use "negative Ions" I believe. I am trying to get in contact with the company which sells them to get a few to test in Malta. I hope that they work.

A few years ago, I thought I had the right idea on how to do my small part towards saving the world. I retired from the Semiconductor industry and started a hard wood company specializing in harvesting trees that came down in storms, floods, or in general for new highways or developments.

I thought I had a good business plan, I had my retirement money to "bootstrap" the company. But the reality was the company failed because woodworkers wanted the best price. They were not concerned about the "deforestation" of South America. I heard constant complaints that as a lumber manufacturer that our prices were the same as retail. Only once over three years did a single customer comment that he was appreciative of what we were doing. But he did not buy anything.

A lot of politicians and yahoo news are making a big deal about global warming now. But they offer no real solutions. Punitive approaches does not really drive people. Economics does.

I decided to go back to what I really know. I have a degree in Nuclear Physics and worked in the Semiconductor industry both in Process and Design. I am not here to "plug" my company. I would like to get your honest replies on an idea we have for a contest.

To start with, 95% of all electronics are built with "clock based" designs. Primarily because it is more simple than "non-clock based" designs. But clocks consume up to 40% of the power used in today's electronics. The important side of this, is that if you can design with less power, technically speaking certain problems affecting global warming can be addressed.

8 to 10% of all worldwide electricity is used for lighting.

Bright LEDs are a reality and use much less power. The problem is households are on Alternating Current not Direct Current (LEDs are direct current at 5 volts or less). Plus voltage varies and so does current or spikes in the current caused by weather, your air conditioner kicking in, etc.

The contest idea is simple. Use our "non-clock based design software" to build "green electronics" household lights to replace the normal 60 watt lightbulb with a 3 watt light bulb using LED's. (We do not produce LEDs)

The price has to be on the order of $1 or less estimated for large scale manufacturing. This would make the 3 watt bulb competitive with the 14 watt florescent bulb and the 60 watt incandescent bulb. Without hitting this price range, people in my opinion just don't see the advantage of buying a more expensive bulb.

So what do you think. Will the general public support this? It will save them money and cut 6 to 8% of the electricity used around the world if they buy the new bulbs.

Thanks for your answers, both positive and negative.

I do not know exactly what you really have in mind. However I can give you a proposal for which I also found very little support if at all.
Can you think of an idea that turns all the waste (Liquid & Solid) coming out of a village will be returned to that same village as Electricity or Fuel gas?
If you are in electronics and can design the equipment, I will be ready to give you a few hints I have picked during these last few years of research. Some methods are already in operation but in non-complete methods.

I will be ready to meet with all contibutors to this Thread and try to make some progress together.

You know what? Everyone makes mistakes in life.... its no big deal.... So what is SO important about being a Virgin? It was just the first time. You can plan your whole life perfectly... and then something goes wrong.... and you not a virgin anymore. What does that make you?... a slut? If you have an accident with your car that doesnt make you a menace on the roads and you not going to give up driving for the rest of your life are you? No no, you going to improve your skills.
Same with life..... you make mistakes.... and learn from them.
Another thought here.... the more experienced you are, the more content you will be. You wont keep wondering if the grass is greener on the other side of the fence!!!!!!

Im talking here about committed relationships... not casual screwing around in abundance and indiscriminately.
Your last sentence says it all.

Losing virginity by acccident or bacause you had been committed to a partnership before is one thing but losing virginity for the fun of losing it is another thing. Some people think like stuntmen...Do it now and see what luck can provide.
I cannot imagine anyone having a car accident on purpose. Of course unless we are all stunt persons.

Geez but I am boring ! I stop all the conversations !!!!!
I do not believe that you intended to stop the conversation actually.
But you are very correct in what you said.
Boys want to have fun and expect to have a virgin girl waiting for him when he decides to put some commitment. Very unpopular idea with me.
But from the boys' side it is very wasteful as well. Why should a girl marry any boy who has been doing evry other girl? Is it not the wish of the girls to have a virgin boy?? Or do they all want an experienced partner to avoid the hassle of the training phase.

It looks like a buisness like this not a loving partnership.

It depends why you wonna go there. If you want to go for pleasure, i don't think is the right place. (very poor)
I assure you that Moldova has a lot to offer in the sense of culture and history. But the best they have is the street celebration which happen so often during the year.
Nature reserves are it their best and a speciality I have visited is the two Underground Wine Factories. One of them has a 34 Kms. road underground...all barrels and bottles and a very special wine tasting facility.

I dont know much about Moldova but I met a girl who is living in Melliehaat the moment she said that it`s not good at all over there at the moment.
It is not very good to live in Moldova as it is the poorest nation in Europe but it has so much to offer for a holiday. The people are a bit cautious with foreigners but when they come to know you....they are like family.

From what I hear from the youngsters around here.... its considered "old fashioned" to not have sex with your boy/girl friend, and from the "legal" age of 16 most girls go on the pill, for this reason. I guess that without anything social to occupy themselves with.... they all just doing something to relieve their boredom? Morals is something unheard of too. And no-one seems to give much thought to STD's either.
So there is nor way for a new driver to buy a new vehicle. They are all tried and tested??? Is being a brand new partner to a brand new relationship called "Old Fashioned"?D'oh!
