Is there a place where it is safe to go to meet people, or just to relax with people? A bar just doesn't seem to be a good place....at least for me. But where else do people go in the Belfast area?

I would like to visit a place where it is "acceptable" to speak to strangers ......if one caught ones eye or if one would like to catch ones eye..... Acceptable is the important word.......I think people are afraid to dare compliment someone or act interested for fear of being accused of speaking out of place. (Sexual harrassment).

We don't have an old fashioned coffee shop in the Belfast area....Maybe they aren't profitable.

The Co-op is nice but unless you know someone there, it can be cold.

I'll be checking back for ideas.

I am just tired of being lonley. I want someone to hold. To care for. To care for me. It just seems that i am destined to spend the rest of this life time alone
Dear Fredbuilt,

You might best find a thing to do, such as a hobby. Reading can be captivating once you find subjects you enjoy. I suspect you can find more than you have time to enjoy. I challange you to go to the library and look around. If you allow yourself to be captivated, you'll have less time to feel sad, and more to talk about when you meet people. But also you might like to build something...whether it be a house, or a garden; or take up music. You are in a wonderful time of your life don't ruin it by feeliing sad and only feeling sad and resentful of others. it's an awful waste. You have youth, health, and time to spare...Can't you imagine how many people would love to have what you have? You won't have it forever. What will you be doing 28 more years from now. Believe me, you don't want to wait till then to start building your life. It likely won't happen if you wait to start then. You are nearly 30. As my son said, it is all down hill from there speaking physically and mentally. So learn some stuff now, it will be easier to build on if you've already started. You need more than a girl. You need more than a drink at home or the bar. Please give the library a try and don't give up. And if you make friends at the library, please don't let it get in the way of discovering yourself.
Please stop being sick of it and start living.
My best wishes go out to you.
