Forum Rules

Let's keep the threads positive. If you don't like what someone is saying in a thread, stay out of the thread.
No explicit, sexual, offensive, insulting or vulgar language. No derogatory or offensive references to sex, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation.
No personally identifiable information, emails addresses, phone numbers, addresses or URLs. This is for your protection.
Report, do not support or encourage forum offenders
Enter threads to proper category. Stay on that topic when posting
Treat others the way you would like to be treated – with respect - be polite, considerate, with no personal attacks, name calling, harassment, bad language. This is a place for discussion, debate, even disagreements – but not arguments just for the sake of arguing or aggravation.
It is not a CS Moderator's job to sit in threads and hold your hand to make sure you post the right things here. Posts or threads that violate the rules will simply be deleted.
You must have a clear topic to start a thread. “I’m bored” or “goodnight all” is a statement, not a topic! If you don’t have anything to say, don’t waste site space and resource saying it.
Topics of threads must be clearly stated in titles. All posts within that thread must address the topic described in the title. You may discuss a dislike for a forum topic. You may NOT discuss your dislike for a forum poster.
Thread title may not include a member’s username. Topic may not be a question or information about a Connecting Singles member. This is gossip and is not allowed.
You may not use the forum to accuse, ‘expose’ or gossip about other members. You may not include copies of mail you receive from or about others, or about the site.
Complaints or reports about members or the site should be sent to Contact Us – not posted in forum.
Threads containing large numbers of inappropriate posts, or numerous posts by a forum offender, will be deleted in entirety. This is for quality control. It is not a comment or reflection on non-offending posters or the originator of the thread.
Read the rules. Site offenders may be banned from posting or removed from site without notice or warning. Staff decisions are final. Don’t waste time or space whining about them. No member has any authority or preference here.
Respect site resources and page load time of members with slow computers. Limit use of emoticons to 3 emoticons per post. Each post must express your idea or opinion in text of at least one sentence. Posts with less than one sentence, gibberish, or with emoticons-only will be deleted.
Think before you post! Posts should be considered permanent. A wide audience views these forums. Your profile and posts represent you to viewers. You will be judged by your words. Don’t ask to have them removed.
Get Togethers are planned and organized by members for the purpose of getting to know each other. They are not funded, sanctioned or managed by Connecting Singles. Participation in these events is voluntary, and at your own risk and expense. Information regarding Get Togethers is posted by members in Forums for your information. Connecting Singles is not responsible for these activities in any way.

CS staff cares and respects our members. This is a quality, free site. Posting here is a privilege. Act accordingly!

If rules are not followed or complaints are received, your posts and/or profile may be deleted.

Content posted in forums becomes the property of Connecting Singles Inc.
(This gives ConnectingSingles.com the right to permanently display material or written work that you enter. ConnectingSingles.com makes no other claim to your writing).

Appropriate?

Are you inferring that people are neglecting other parts of their lives.

And who are you to ask if we are rewarded by how we spend our time?

This question is about as imflamatory as another famous moment in CS history...

When a poster asked, "Don't you people have lives?"

Cannot answer for others. However, the time I have used bolds or CAPS is so that part of my paragraph stands out better, as I personally cannot read small print especially those pill bottle labels. Comes with age.hug

Thats a great sugjestion to cut down on the cost. We need to conserve where can, so we are not paying the high prices this has caused. Unfortunatly there are a lot of people who have lost there jobs because of this, and more everyday are following. And some are taking a cut in pay to keep there jobs while prices stay on the rise.
Some years back something like this happend and the government put a freeze on, so prices could not break the
American people. But it seems this time they just dont care what happens to the rest of us.

Yes, so many teachers lost their jobs in Volusia county that their homes are going into foreclosure. This county has the worse education system in the nation. Why in the hell do you go to other states to recruit new teachers here and then lay 210 of them off the next year? I so want to move to the country.frustrated dancing

Looks to me you will be getting your wish! That is not a bad thing in it's self. But how many people will it ruin before that happens?

I so agree with your posts. Good ones too. Gas here is over 4 dollars a gallon and with the hurricane seasone here it is costing big bucks for the containers to store for the generator. Between the gas and charging more for supplies and groceries to deliver this stuff because of their fuel costs, I have teamed up with a neighbor to grocery shop and pet food store, even we buy at Sams club and split the packages, like paper products for the bath that come in bulk.handshake motorcycle

Women were beautiful from the start....they don't need all that stuff!

Out of all the replies, your replies made the most sense. My mother always wore the spiked high heels, a thing since World War II with the beautiful hats, when ladies acted more like ladies. My dad always said it made my mother's legs look longer and beautiful with a dress or skirt, Reallyniceguy hit the nail on the head.
personally, I wore them when going out man hunting, but for the work in the hospital, and at home, it is flats for me. Now they say it throws your pelvis and other body parts out of whack.
Heels, in my opinion are good for when you do not want to hem your pants as I am only 5 ' 1" tall.wave

Advice to consumers: http://www.cdc.gov
http://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/saintpaul/

At this time, FDA is advising U.S. consumers to limit their tomato consumption to those that are not the likely source of this outbreak. These include cherry tomatoes; grape tomatoes; tomatoes sold with the vine still attached; tomatoes grown at home; and red plum, red Roma, and round red tomatoes from specific sources listed at: http://www.fda.gov/oc/opacom/hottopics/tomatoes.html*. Consumers should be aware that raw tomatoes are often used in the preparation of fresh salsa, guacamole, and pico de gallo, are part of fillings for tortillas, and are used in many other dishes.

Customers everywhere are advised to:

Refrigerate within 2 hours or discard cut, peeled, or cooked tomatoes.
Avoid purchasing bruised or damaged tomatoes and discard any that appear spoiled.
Thoroughly wash all tomatoes under running water.
Keep tomatoes that will be consumed raw separate from raw meats, raw seafood, and raw produce items.
Wash cutting boards, dishes, utensils, and counter tops with hot water and soap when switching between types of food products.

This has devastated our local growers here. I really think it is some kind of "chicken little" thing. Spritz your kitchen sink and counters every day with a bleach and water mixture, I have never heard of fruits or veggies carrying bacteria on the inside, WASH THEM, AFTER SPRITZING THE SINK!professor

This post by Kansas was too funny and so worth a re-post. Thanks for putting things in perspective.

A lot of folks can't understand how we came to have an oil shortage here in our country.
~~~
Well, there's a very simple answer.
~~~

Nobody bothered to check the oil.
~~~
We just didn't know we were getting low.
~~~

The reason for that is purely geographical.~~~

Our OIL is located in:

ALASKA
California
Coastal Florida
Coastal Louisiana
Kansas
North Dakota
Oklahoma
Pennsylvania
and Texas

~~~
Our DIPSTICKS are located in:
Washington, DC!!!
Any Questions???
