Hey Claire, what about our very own naked rambler.

Hes' been trying to do Lands end to John o Groats
for some time now. Trouble is he keeps getting
arrested. I think hes' spent more time in prison
than roaming the countryside starkers.wow!

really? i always thought that was a reference to 'alice in wonderland'?

There is scientific evidence behind the meaning of insanity. Mercury was used in the process of curing felt used in some hats. It was impossible for hatters to avoid inhaling the mercury fumes given off during the hat making process. Over time, the residual mercury caused neurological damage, as well as confused speech and distorted vision. As the mercury poisoning progressed to dangerously high levels, sufferers could also experience psychotic symptoms, such as hallucinations. Given that anyone exhibiting an altered mental state was dubbed mad at the time, the cause of such malady, and subsequent death of such people doubtless went unexplained for a long time.[2]

The Mad Hatter does not exhibit the symptoms of mercury poisoning. Principal symptoms of mercury poisoning known at the time included timidity, loss of self confidence, anxiety, and a desire to remain unobserved. Most likely the Mad Hatter's character was modeled on someone who was not a hatter.[3]

I stand corrected, it wasnt the gluegrin

'Mad as a hatter' is a phrase sometimes
used in the uk.
This was originaly a reference to the glue
used by the workers in hat factories and
its affect on them.
As i live in Stockport where we have a hat
museum, a relic of a bygone era and our
local football team are nicknamed
'The Hatters', it might explain the behaviour
of some of the people in this town.laugh

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till Im free
Oh, lord, through the revolution

Feed the babies
Who dont have enough to eat
Shoe the children
With no shoes on their feet
House the people
Livin in the street
Oh, oh, theres a solution

I want to fly like an eagle
To the sea
Fly like an eagle
Let my spirit carry me
I want to fly like an eagle
Till Im free
Fly through the revolution

Quite possibly someone who has just stumbled
across your number.
First option has to be (A), if that doesnt work
consider B,C&D. and of course you will then
know your mystery caller is aquainted with you.

Good luck

Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight
If your mother says don't chew it
Do you swallow it in spite
Can you catch it on your tonsils
Can you heave it left and right
Does your chewing gum lose its flavour
On the bedpost overnight
