Pardon the intrusion but I am very familiar with the Keyoto Ttreaty and the unnecessary and unfair burden it would have placed on the USA. If Obama is saying he's going to sign America up for this thing then I really am doubtful of his ability to make good decisions. In any case, he will get overridden by the Congress or at least I would hope so.

Bill Clinton sat on it because he knew it was wrong and he could pawn it off on either Gore or Bush after the elections. Even John Kerry (Whom I don't like) had sense enough to say only a fool would sign onto this treaty.

It gives the US no say or negotiation ability until they sign on and then any changes need to be voted in by a 75% margin by all participating nations. Over 75% of those are receiving nations and I doubt they would give up the billons in funding this treaty would exact on the US. Also, China and other polluting countries are not held to the same standards. Why should we commit ourselves to something we have no control over?

In short, the Keyoto Treaty is liken to two lions and a sheep getting together to try to decide what's for dinner (The US being the sheep in this case) There are smarter ways to help the environment and allowing the UN to dictate how much we pay and what we do does not equate to smart in my opinion and the opinions of most of the congress that has already seen the protocol.

Screw the political nonsense. People need to realize that politics is unimportant and the real importance is gee saving the earth? We're on the brink of changing the entire face of the earth, on the brink to creating our own demise. So many people will die if this continues. We need to stop our carbon dioxide emissions, or at least decrease it. We NEED to. It's not a question of politics. And yes China does pollute as well as developing nations. But just because they're doing it doesn't mean we need to help. That doesn't make any sense. Oh well other people are doing it so hey why should we stop? Let's deplete the ozone faster! China's CO2 emissions surpassed the US in 2006. If everything continues as it is, ALL of the ice in Antarctica will be melted by 2013-2014. Yeah. It's THAT real. The projections keep getting sooner and sooner. It went from 2070 to 2050 to 2030 to the current projection. That means manhattan island will be gone. Cape Cod, gone. Florida, raped. New Orleans? Gone for good this time. So much destruction. And politicians only think about money. Ha. This world is so much more than that. Just look what it has come to.

Subject: Yes we do. As I said, there are sticky levels. We have going out from us at all times vibrations, many, many vibrations. These don't go out to X and then stop. They continue flowing out in all directions, intertwining with everybody else's vibrations and the vibrations of everything else. Each vibration not only has power and force that we could equate to electricity, it also has magnetism. So our vibrations are attracted to like vibrations. If, for example, a large percentage of our thoughts have been at a certain vibratory level, then we may be more easily attracted to a specific concentric ring. If however we have practiced projecting our thoughts, feelings and desires, then we can, like a fish slipping through the water, transcend many, many levels, because our thoughts are extremely powerful vibration. Those extremely powerful vibrations are attracted to equally powerful vibrations. And we can definitely transcend many of these sticky levels.

I don't understand this talk of levels and vibrations.... as far as science goes, as far as I know and have been taught in my astronomy classes, there are no levels like that other than the levels of earth's atmosphere. There is dark matter and some form of energy/matter that we can't grasp or explain, maybe that's it, but yeah. I don't understand these vibrations either. I understand things in term of radio waves traveling through space, though.... it that's the same thing....

Shame really.. having said that I wouldn't be reckless about such a choice myself and would want to be really sure.. true love doesn't come along everyday, and not everyone is privelaged enough to have it.. so if it came along.. I wouldn't turn my back on it...

The difference from those times is well, morals. Morals have changed so much and not to mention population is soaring... the more people there are, the weirder they get. Crime rates go up. The world is a very unsafe place and it's safer for you to not trust people. It is a shame but unfortunately how our worlds works now.

NEVER!!!!!!!!! I hope it stays that way for a long time to come, marriage is.... meh. It's only recently that I thought of it as anything more significant than a government label in order to receive benefits from it. I don't like the idea of chaining someone to you so they can't escape. Meh. My dad went through two divorces for two horrible marriages that ruined my life (in the past) so that's probably why I'm bitter about the subject.

No. I would never trust someone enough to give up everything for them. If it doesn't work out or if something happens, then where do you go? I'd do things differently, maybe move, to go after someone if we loved each other but I need to have something that's mine and separate that I can go back to

All I know is that America is falling and falling hard. I've lost all hope in being able to stand up at all to stop the Bush administration from raping my rights as a citizen. 01-20-09 is the long awaited end of an error. Hopefully America can pull herself together. Which means we'd need a Democrat president to balance it out. And not Hillary. If Hillary wins I still have no hope. I don't think she's sign the Kyoto Treaty, or pull out of the war. I'm afraid she'll turn into a Republican puppet. But even Obama himself is corporate, they're all about the money, but atleast Obama is the better candidate. Younger and fresher.

I don't agree or disagree with the Reagan discussion, that's all a matter of personal opinion. It doesn't appear to me that he did anything incredibly horrible or anything incredibly amazing. Just kinda there. Like I said before he has some great quotes though. Haha. I like the one about the government being like a baby. It's too bad he was a part of it, he seems to make fun of it a lot dunno It's just that whenever I see a comment about the Bush administration not being as bad as people say it is or that it's good.... part of me dies a little inside and my hope for this country slips farther and farther down the drain. Yep.

The man simply isn't smart enough!

The president/prime minister of any given nation is just the face of the party in power and some countries sure do pick some ugly faces.

I happen to have a very good command of the English language and I did not take anything out of context but to be fair here is the complete sentence from the first capital letter to the period at the end.

Regardless of their sincerity, their humanitarian motives, those who would sacrifice freedom for security have embarked on this downward path.

Now, he may have been referring to pacifist "liberals" but that sentence can describe equally well, those on the far right who couldn't care less about giving up our freedoms and rights expressed in the Constitution for the "security" of the totalitarian state. I submit to you the "Patriot Act" and "Homeland Security" and tapping peoples phone conversations and emails without a court order. It's all in your point of view after all, isn't it?

Personally, I think Ronald Reagan should have been impeached, prosecuted for war crimes and treason and thrown in jail along with his henchman Oliver North for violating the direct orders of the congress by selling arms to Iran under the secrecy of the NSC.
We're paying for that today.

http://www.infoplease.com/ce6/history/A0825447.html

There are many who believe he also made a deal with Iran to get our embassy hostages released. Doesn't it seem strange to you that they were released on the very day Reagan took the oath of office?

Sorry, but a few glib one liners does NOT a great president make. The man was an actor for Christ sake! He was trained to read lines well. He most likely didn't even create those gems, some unsung script writer did. And for this he is elevated to greatness?

When are we going to stop placing so much importance on charisma and charm and instead elect our leaders based on
ability
honesty
trustworthiness
respect
responsibility
fairness
caring and
citizenship

Well stated.

Btw I wasn't saying at the beginning of these posts that all republicans badmouth democrats, it's just that many do. I have some good friends that are republicans, just because they have different opinions. But atleast they know what they're talking about. You... Indyfella... you are just hardcore against any democrat anything. You're flat out rejecting everything everyone's saying for no reason and without facts. That is aggravating. I'm not even arguing against Reagan because I dislike the nature of politics and thus all politicians have bad in them even when they stand for good, and I love some of Reagan's quotes. Unfortunately I don't know enough about him to flat out reject him simply because I'm Democrat, doesn't make much sense if I did would it?

e's ruining our economy, our environment, our lives, our freedom. He's managed to get himself into such a high state of power that we can't even fight against it. Did you know that in Vermont, if he so much as steps foot in the state, he can be arrested and tried for treason? They passed a bill allowing it. Oh and atleast other presidents actually worked their way through college and the military, and can speak proper english. He's ruining everything we've ever stood for. Oh and one more thing.... in the grand canyon, they are no longer allowed to say that erosion created the canyon over hundreds of years.... they have to say that God created it as it was and it's never changed. He's been allowed to make them sell a book that never had to be edited or altered, they were written and placed on the shelf and it's completely about creationism. The majority of people are not creationists. He's spewing lies all over our country. He's sending us into another great depression and worse.... helping cause the possible end of America altogether, and helping destroy the ozone layer which is the reason we can even maintain life. Awesome. Now try to tell me there has been a worse president.

Oh, I think there's an ample number. Carter would be highest on the "modern day list". He was as worthless as the tits on a nun.

Johnson mired us down in Viet Nam and tried to run the war from the White House.

Franklin Roosevelt...the only dictator we really had in 225 years.

Hoover wasn't too hot either...There's plenty that were worse than Bush.

Are you retarded?
I'm sorry, I don't generally call names to make my point, but it seems that's your game.... I find that a lot of republicans I debate with can only find name-calling useful in debates when they can't come up with an argument. But seriously? You're saying there were presidents WORSE than George W Bush? Wow. Read up on current events, my friend. Bush is closer to being a dictator than any other president. You know they were trying to pass some law that hinders the first amendment? You know, free speech? Yeah that one! He impedes on our privacy rights and holds people without fair trial first. He tears down opposition in his own country and declares it terrorist activity and anti-american actions and arrests you. He has so far instilled a fear in our nation that is ruining us. You wonder why the American people don't do anything against him? Because they're afraid. I would totally lead a revolt against him if I didn't think I was going to get arrested for it. Things never used to be like that. He taps our phones, our computers, lied to create a war (not that other presidents haven't done that too) over money and spent billions and billions of dollars on it.... used military volunteers as pawns all for what.... to prevent oil from being charged with euros instead of us dollars? bullshit. Waste of life, selfish, pointless. He destroyed our economy all for currency for oil. Did you know that he KNEW about 9/11? He was forewarned about it in a letter and chose to do nothing. Shortly before 9/11 there was also a monetary transaction between he and Osama Bin Laden. Notice how we "searched" for him and never found him. We could find Suddam in a hole in the ground in some farm, but couldn't find Osama Bin Laden and his terrorist following? Now that's bullshit if I've ever seen it. It was never about 9/11 or Osama, he USED the loss of the American people as a way to manipulate them into believing in the war. He caused the largest unemployment rate in YEARS in his very first term of presidency. He's created the biggest gap between the upper class and the middle class than EVER before in history other than the great depression. Oh need I mention, the patriot act and no child left behind? BULLSHIT. More and more houses are being foreclosed upon, more and more banks and college loan companies and investment companies are going bankrupt. Take Bear Stearns and MEFA for example. I get my loans from MEFA and the government just told them that they have no more money. Next semester I have to find somewhere else to take out my college loans. The economy is in recession and he won't even acknowledge it! We're walking headlong into the destruction of our country and he's the culprit. He refused to sign the Kyoto Treaty as well, ignoring any sign that anything could possibly be going wrong wit hthe world. H

Isn't that exactly what so many American voters did in 2004?

Yeah the problem was that Bush used 9/11 to trigger fear among American citizens. He used it to his advantage. And people fell for it. But the problem was that there were not enough people who voted, so America was underrepresented. I believe that if enough people had voted then Bush would never have been in office. Oh wait not to mention the Florida list issue that stopped people from voting, voting fraud where people voted twice in two different states, and "broken machines" in prominent democratic black communities. It is our fault for not voting, but if I could have voted I would have.
