I would agree with you so far.
the solo from Freebird was Gary Rossington, Alan Collins ,and Ed King. Saw them in 77 and saw them 87 andin 05. they still sound great. But in 05 they had Rickey Medlocke and Hughie Thompson and they did better.

There is more than pounding drums, brutal bass ,and crunching guitars, and pounding your head to the ground in rock music.

Eddie Van Halen - Eruption
Randy Rhodes- everything
Jimi Hendrix- everything
With out these you wouldn't have rock music today. Jimi showed the world what a electric guitar can sound like. Eddie re invented the electric guitar and rock music. And Randy took it to the next level.

some hidden rock gems
Badlands- the vocals are great and the guitarplaying is great too. Makes you wonder why Ozzy got rid of Jake . No offense but Zakks good but not like Jake or Randy.
Blue Murder - another hidden gem. What was Coverdale thinking about letting John Sykes leaving.
Lynch Mob- George at his finest.
Molly Hatchett: The best Southern rock band musically wise - yes

If you could have dinner with 5 people leaving and not living who it be? Tell also a brief statement about the dinner.
My 5 would be this:
1: Marvin Gaye
2: Elvis Pressley
3: Jimi Hendrix
4: Abe Lincoln
5: Sir Paul Mccartney

That would a very musical dinner. People will question " Why Abe Lincoln ? " Well to show him what he accomplished from his presidency. To hear from the musicians how it was during the times when they did all of there recordings. To tell them how they influenced music in general. Talk about a concert to see -wow.

I'd say the sexiest songs on a whole album would be " slide it in " by Whitesnake. Reason why every girlfriend I had just melts when I play that album. Anything from Whitesnake would get your lover melting, lol.

Back in the pop. metal years I played in alot of the usual LA clubs. I played them actually with 2 different bands at different times. Both of my rock touring bands was based out of Dallas, Texas. Plus I owned a guitarshop / musicstore in the DFW metroplex. We had just about every rock, blues, country, and some jazz greats go there. The band I play with now in LA we mostly do everyones songs that they did plus a few covers too. I still write songs now but mainly they collect dust .lol . I'm not saying they are good but that style of music isn't popular or marketable either.

If you read my some of my comments or replies you know That I was a touring Guitarplayer in bands ( both rock and country genres) . If you haven't I've been playing for over 20+ yrs. . So the reason for this thread is looking for people to jam with. I go to LA twice monthly playing out there with people ( bunch of ex band members of various rock bands). So lets see some people play or sing.

This was no joke thread. I've haven't gotten a goods night sleep after this has happened. And I guess the hole in my heart is a joke too, right. I'm old fashion when it comes to relationships so this floors me still on what happened to me.
