Possibly from a different perspective, it could be the type of men also. Not saying all of them but people in general tend to be aggresive and compulsive by nature. They see or think they know what they want, so they immediately want to go for it and cross that threshold of no return. I think mentally, it's not different from compulsive buying to aquire things they want right now. Could also be the subliminal fear of possibly letting you get away.
Sad thing is, in line with what Jackie said...The I love you's start flying, they believe they love and the receiver believes it, only to find out later it wasn't love at all.
I've never been aggresive when it comes to relationships for that very reason. If I'm going to consider spending the rest of my life with someone, I want to absoloutely KNOW it has a chance of working out. I'm sorry but chatting for hours, talking on the phone alot or even dating alot and getting along doesn't mean it'll work out once you commit. Thus the age old saying..."It all changes once you say I DO!"
I agree, If you're really serious, take baby steps and don't push. Give Love time to do its thing.
