Don't know why women don't comment on this, in general. I live in Europe and don't have a car--of course lots of people here do have cars, but usually one to a family, not one for each person in the family, and on average, smaller, more gas efficient models than Americans tend to favor. When I lived in America, I had a very small, gas efficient car, and the price of gas was not a big issue for me. Now I use my feet, mass transit, or a bicycle. I'm healthier, and I have no idea what gas costs here and don't have to care. I do know that it has cost here a great deal more than it ever cost in America for many years, and Europeans have adjusted to it. I think there is an issue about pollution for one thing, as well as eventually depleting the oil reserves--and it's just not all about the price and those nasty politicians playing unfair with y'all.
