I see, thank you, yes the Spanish are laid back as the Italians are, in fact I think alot of Europe is.

But I agree, in colder climates, and whilst it is hot here, people do work more in the winter, because the winters are so long.

And it does get cold here, we had snow until end of April here, which I found tough, not being used to much snow in the UK, I did find it hard, but then within a week it is hot sunshine.

Short, hot summers and cold long winters.

I think one more year here and then somewhere warm.

Recession, I do not think the UK is in one, I think it will be anytime soon.

The last recession early 90's my mortgage tripled overnight and I had to get two extra jobs to support that.

I was terrified being 23 and a small child and a husband who had no idea what the word meant never mind the impact.

scary.....

got to go now...

And, please do tell ..... what sort of reply other than "Thanks" does one send to a message that says "I enjoyed reading your profile"?

Actually - I do say "Thanks" ... and then I think they have had to return to their space-ship or something, cause they never re-appear! So, what is the point of the whole excercise?

how about writing back:

I enjoyed reading your profile too. Yours was nonexistant.laugh

I had a neighbour like that once,

first I went up to his house with two hammers but that didn't work..

what worked was having ACDC playing loudly when I left for work....

after that, we were best friends, more or less

How so Dragon?

in warmer climates, people tend to be a bit lazier than in colder climates. I think it's because it's too hot to work and in colder climates, you either work and do something or your freeze.

spain has the "mañana, mañana (tomorrow, tomorrow) attitude and instead of getting up and doing something about it, they just sit down and complain.

I know complaining is good for the soul (it's good for the heart - no heart attacks-) but if it's not accompanied by action then nothing goes forwards.

Dear All,I have a neighbour, 30, a DJ who lives next to my door for 3 months.
He earns a lot of money, about 3000 euro/day and that's why he consider is alone here and make a lot of noise with what he calls "music". Loud, loud music. My walls are moving when he turn on the stereo.
I called police a lot of times, he continues to do that. I think he's on drugs.
Please advice me what to do in order to stop him?
This morning he wake me up at 5.00.Thanks,

Mirodenia

find out the times he usually do that thing called sleep

have some heavy heavy metal music ready on your player

when he's asleep, press the play button and leave the house

if you have a timer, you can set the timer to play the music for about 20 minutes every half an hour

if all fails, I suggest you go to his door with a couple of hammers and bang on his door when he's beeing very loud and tell him to be quiet.

if all above fails....

make friends with an electrician, find out where his wires are and disconnect them.

if all above fails..... move house or join the club

Should they have a "best before date"?
After 51 years of marriage an dating I'm starting to wonder if women really change after a while. My 23 year old son said:" Absolutely"
It seems as soon as you get "hooked", they start to "command and conquer". Then when you speak up for yourself and tell them:"It's my way or the highway", they start "sucking up", being friendly and find new way how you can be happy together...
Puzzling, to say the least.
Maybe I'll just stay alone and learn from my son

what do you mean after 51 years of marriage and dating?

have you been doing both at the same time?

if so... naughty naughtyscold

as to your dilema....

women don't lead men to their downfall, at the beginning we show, just like guys show, the best side and as we get to know each other we start seeing the not so nice things and the only question is...

can we put up with that or not?

Hi Rusty alot of people are here for the friendships they have made and i think that's fine, if i got into a relationship i would certainly not my partner to give up there friends, think it's about honesty ansd making it clear you are not actively looking

that's right, abandoning your friends when you're in a relationship is no good, I am not doing it and I wouldn't expect (or want) the other person to do it either. As long as there is trust and both are honest there is absolutely no problem.
