I was really embarassed when I went to the mechanic, but there happened to be a lorry driver and he said that they do it all the time... he described the symptoms perfectly well so I believed him.

the symptoms, although beautiful, were very frightening. As I drove early in the morning, every single light from lampost, light, window, car, traffic light or whatever, converged on to my windscreen, giving beautiful training light lines but since they were moving and coming from all sorts of directions... it was frightening!
