I believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God, but I don't discount evolution at all...
How does one explain how similar dinosaurs and modern day birds are?
I don't completely believe in a Creationist's view of how life began...to me, being a very logical person, it doesn't make sense to me.
But I don't think that it's as important, how we got here, as it is what we do with our time.
As for religion classes here in the states, I think that it should be a choice whether or not to take it, I mean in public school. I mean, if you don't learn about someone else's religion, and if it happens to come up in conversation, how can you intelligently have a conversation? Sounding all ignorant and everything?
That happened to me, when I went to my friend's church before...they're nondenominational, I'm Catholic...it was just ridiculous.
They came at me with all of these ridiculous accusations...and I don't mean the usual ones, they were ones that sounded as if they were from waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay deep left field.
Religion classes inform people, I think. But you really can't get a grasp of someone's personal choice that way unless you conversate or otherwise interact with them. But unless it's a private/parochial school, I don't think that religion classes should be mandatory. Because religion, to me, is a personal choice.
If you choose to believe, you do.
If you choose not to believe, you don't.
That's how I feel about it, anyway.
