Taxi22: Thanks to all in fact I am not looking for girls or work and missed .... And I was looking for a promising future .............

I would suggest that perhaps you research some of the major cities who support a strong financial district; such as Toronto and Vancouver. From there, research those cities and base your decision on what area meets your personal criteria. Both cities have much to offer, as does their surrounding areas and provinces...but they are very different. I am guessing that being from a climate such as Jordan's, you would probably love Vancouver; it has everything you could want, and has a large and active Muslim community canada You can find out alot about Vancouver, British Columbia on the internet!!! Good Luck

Let us not forget those men and women that lost their lives serving in the numerous wars, training and peacekeeping efforts of the past and present....and let us honour those who are serving now...stay safe and stay well.

gemery: Did you know that Chilliwack has managed to get their albums released on CD now? I bought Anthology not too long ago, with my favourite Chilliwack song on it.....Lonesome Mary.

geo

No, I did not know about the CD releases...awesome. Hard to find their music. My favs? Crazy talk and Baby Blue...but I like most all. wave

Another old time fav...The Poppy Family!!! Still have an 8 track or two of theirs. At one time, way back when, my cousin was engaged to the drummer of the Poppy Family so of course I was a huge fan...can't think of one song that Susan Jacks sang that I didn't know by heart and did not like! Mid - 70's I was given a "loudmouth" 8-track player for Christmas. It had a mike that enabled one to sing along with the song - 70's version of karioki! Flashback to 12!!!

So...who's gotten the blessed H1N1 shot...who has stood in line but was unable to get it...and....who is not getting it; and why? Just curious...
Me? I'm not getting it cuz I am immune! Guess that's what happens when you get the swine flu grin

KHD100: OUCH!!! hope you feel better soon ... congrats on getting the laundry done first ... we tried to get the flu shot ... but 4 hr long waits in line, and then they ran out of vaccine ... Had the flu shot 3 weeks ago, but alas no H1 available. Another idea brought on by our political brainiacs with out the proper planning ... no suprize there. :-)

Take care, hope the kiddo is doing much better ... No flu at the moment but asthma is driving me nuts ...

Hopefully that is 5 days of Tannis getting some rest and TLC???? ;-)

blues Sick...but I think the Tamiflu is doing what it is supposed to. Glen got his shot on Saturday morning, but is too high risk to really help out, unless it is an emergency. If he gets it, odds are he ends up in the hospital because of a preexisting respiratory condition. I go back to doc on Friday.
Kiddo? He is stabilized, and is improving...but not there yet...It's going to be a long hard road; again.

KHD100: Mom finished Chemo in October and went to Magigoria Croatia for 10 days. Today she saw the specialist. Specialist told her she hopes to not see her again, and right now everything looks good.

Right now we are all keeping our fingers crossed for the future.

Thanks for all your support, positive thoughts and prayers.

gordy22222: drinking screech straight up an eatin punkin pie 1988. does it ever make interesting patterns on the uneven floor when you wake up how bout some of your memories of halloween

My memories of Halloween area about the kids...of course ((except the one time my ex and I dressed up as gorillas, but only one would go into the dance at a time, so people thought there was only one us....was sort of funny screwing with everyone's head for most of the night))
1988??? That's the year I made the oldest one the best vampire costume...the middle one was My Little Pony and the youngest was a handmedown crayon. Spent hours with my good friend driving them around from farm to farm to get their "loot" - after which we sat down to a well deserved drink or 2....wine

So...I really needed a bit of time off, working sometimes 10-12 days in a row between 2 jobs frustrated But not like this! Woke up feeling like 2 trucks hit me and very sore throat - that has now moved into my upper respiratory - went to the doc - presenting with symptoms of H1N1..But, they are having good results if treated with Tamiflu within 48 hours of onset of first symptoms. It was provided free of charge under the National Antiviral Stockpile. Doc says that she is not fooling around swabbing and waiting for 5 days for a result - by then people can be very sick and it is too late for anti-viral meds.
So clear/lite diet; Tylenol and Ibuprofen/ lots of rest/ and see the doc in 5 days blues Thank God I got all the laundry done!
Irony...was going to go for the shot tomorrow morning.

hollandgirl: Please tell me what is Bannock? Never heard of it.

Bannock is an unleavened quick bread that primarily is cooked by most First Nations People/Natives/ Indians/ Aboriginals {whatever is the politically correct term today}
They bake in over a fire on a stick. or in an oven - some fry it. Flour, salt, lard and baking powder...that all.
Was introduced to the Natives by the Scottish Fur Traders...who introduced alot more as well {along with the French and British} thus the creation of the `Metis. grin

kidatheart: Hi Eyes

I live in Lamont, I'm surrounded by Hutterites. Yep, tried it, and their Dandelion wine too, but there is better moonshine available in the area.

That reminds me, I have to give the Hairy Hill colony a call, almost time for another sack of dead chickens.

The best chickens...no doubt! Darn good corn as well...no Hutterite Colony up this way...think the closest is Grande Prairie. Weird, don't see any cattle up this way either...confused

I lost my voice for several hours after drinking that stuff....pure poison. Ahhh, to be young and stupid again.

laugh Boys, boys , boys
Being 1/2 Scotch (the good half by the way) we drink SCOTCH...while those of the older generation do/did; even teh ladies - scotch on the rocks...vile stuff! Too nasty to shoot - never mix it with coke...
But...have you ever tired Hutterite Hooch? Now that'll knock you on your arse before you know what hit you! And smooth...wave HI Kid

KHD100: We ... it does have some truth to it and it's not some overly sweet ... leading to unrealistic expectations on being "we".

Does not cover what your man is doing for you and your kid ... or what others do that really show they are in the relationship for good or bad.

Nope, you're right...he is here for me and kiddo...he cares very much for us. He was strong enough and calm enough for both of us this past week or so...and he helped me believe in my ability to be a mom...a good mom; stopped me from beating up on myself. and, Kiddo trusts him and will talk to him and that is something that really matters...Guess we are there for each other..."we" are just plain good together

hollandgirl: Aha so you moved up North so you could have an excuse to cuddle up more eh?
Yeah no snow here yet but some places in the States have now snow.
Much too early is it not?

laugh I don't need an excuse...wink
Actually, winters here are not anywhere as cold and the snow is alot less than the province I lived in my whole life... North and North Central Saskatchewan winters are brutal! Storms come in and shut down communities for days, highways are often closed and last year, although my car was plugged in, I needed a boost 3 times, it was -45.
The cold here in the Yukon is a dry cold and that makes it easier as well...wave
