Is it worth it to buy food imported from another country just to save a few $? As a child I don't remember having to worry about getting salmonella from produce bought in the stores, and I don't remember our pets getting poisoned from melamine infused petfood. I for one refuse to shop at Wally world ever again. It is well worth it for me to spend a few dollars more getting something that I know is safe, and homegrown. My solution to this recession that we are definately in would be to buy enough homegrown food for 1 month, go home and shut down everything in your house, park your car, stay home from work for two weeks, pitch a tent in the back yard and live like our ancestors did. If everyone, everywhere could do that at the same time, imagine what that would do to all of those money grubbing assholes that have caused this mess that we are in? But unfortunately that will never happen. But if everyone would buy their gas from anyone except Mobile/Exxon for a couple of weeks, imagine what that would do to the gas prices? Just my opinion!

I cant speak for Canada.... but here in the US we are simply paying for the reprocussions of cheaper goods that resulted from the pilfering of our factories, and moving those jobs out of the country... The end result is that those people in foreign countries, who recieved the benefit of the jobs those industries provided, have now upgraded their own standards of living, and are able to buy products that further strain the global supplies of raw materials....
So while we have been paying for below market value prices for food stuffs, textiles, etc etc... for a number of years, we are now having the backlash of the economic slingshot which came directly from this business/economic policy....
Now.... because of the additional cost of transporting those goods, everything comes full swing..... costs of goods are rising to what they should be, and we no longer have the industries to offset those rises in prices.... thus we have become vulnerable, and have ruined our own independence through global economic unilateralism.....and here in this country, helped build an empire for a family whose policies are to gobble up any healthy competition that stands in their way.....
So run out and buy those two dollar t-shirts and those 4 dollar sweatshirts before you lose out on what you essentially traded for in terms of 4 dollar a gallon gas...........

She is in desperate need of a couple of good housekeepers, a bartender, a designated driver, and a whole lot of party crashers. Any takers?

I do like this thread. It really gripes me how the government is going after people who smoke, and people who are overweight. It reminds me of Hitler and his quest for a perfect race of people in his Nazi regime. It is no longer a government by the people, for the people. But a government by big business to control the people.very mad

You would have to open the tent flap a time or two and give a great big stretch to make it qualify as camping, lol. You might have to come and go on the Rocky mountain atv jamboree which is held in the first week of September, then we will find out the truth, lol.dancing banana

Been there, done that! And pepsid didn't do a damn thing, lol. Seriously though, if it wasn't meant to be, then it wasn't. There are a whole bunch of beautiful women out there, you just have to have fun finding the one who is right for you. That is what these dating sites are for. I have a lot of beautiful friends from all over the world. My
advice is get a couple of dogs to fill the void, then find yourself a dog lover.

I have heard this before, that animals have no souls. If they don't, then neither do we. I have no spouse, no children, but I do have 2 dogs at the moment who I am very close to. I have seen them experience love for each other, and me, hate to anybody intruding in their territory, greed when they both want the same toy, sympathy when I am ailing, happiness when they get to go for a ride, sadness when they don't, anger when I get back after leaving them home (my pants legs all are shredded because of that, lol). When it comes to ESP, animals are so far ahead of us it is unreal. I know that if my pets aren't going to heaven, then I don't want to be there either!

If we are talking about your Mom, then enjoy the time that you can spend with her because she may not be there tomorrow. I lost my Mother on October 2, 2007. It created a great emptiness in my life without her.

I ran into a couple of customers of mine that thought I had sold my business and moved out of Utah because I had met a girl in Indiana who was a sister of another customer of mine. It is amazing how people have to change reality into delusion to satisty their ego.

It matters not how many roads you have traveled.
Nor to the places they may have led.
It matters what you have done during the journey.
That people remember when you are dead.
