I was with a woman for 13 years. 10 of which were idyllic and more than I could have ever dreamed of. Of course there were problems but we shouldered the burdens together and overcame each of them in turn. I started my own business ten years into that relationship and things were a bit shaky at first, financially. She decided to get some work to help with the money issues and ended up working in a call centre. Within a few months of this she decided that she deserved more of her life than what our family represented. She started going out with the girls on weekends all the time. Then she pushed this further by picking our children up after school and dropping them off at my business every day. It was difficult to deal with customers and my children but I truly enjoyed the extra time with them. She would be gone for hours every day from the point of dropping the children off until very late or early in the morning. She was always drunk and reeking of pot. We had a serious talk about this and she said she was just catching up on the partying she missed while raising a family. Eventually the cocaine came into the picture and I stood my ground. This didn't go over very well however and she told me that if I persisted she could always take the kids and leave. I endured this for three years in solitary confinement of sorts. I lived on my couch and refused to touch her. My heart was broken to see the little girl in her so broken, and the woman I Loved so lost and hateful.
She started having a relationship with a local drug kingpin in my home town and that was more than enough for me. We had a good rip roaring discussion about what was to be done. Her only position was that she would take our children from me if I did anything.
She told me one day that she was taking our daughter down South to help a friend move for the long weekend. I did not object as this friend had a daughter who was close to my own daughter. The day before she was to leave I cantracted an extremely nasty bout of chicken pocks which came very near to killing me. She left our 3 year old son in my care, smiled and walked out the door. I had to get her brother to take our son while I tried to live. I had lesions all over every square inch of my body and down my throat, inside my eyes, up my nose, everywhere. I was fevered and bloody for days. She called and laughed saying that I was a big boy and could surely deal with a childhood disease, never even asking about our son. She managed to sleep with both members of the couple she was helping move in some drugged up orgy and my daughter had to endure this as did their own.
When she came home I had her bags packed and that of the children as well. I knew she would take them the minute I went to work so I had to let them go.
7 years of court and nothing has come of it. I have been granted access every time, but she just neglects to bother. She is with the drug dealer now and has even been arrested for guns and half a million dollars worth of drugs, and still the courts grant custody to the mother, because her boyfriend took the fall and served 3 months in jail.
My personal feelings are moot here but I cannot bear what has happened to our children. My daughter is now a full blown drug addicxt and an alcoholic, she is 15. My sone turns 11 this year and she already has him drinking with her. I am at a loss, and have no energy left to deal with this.

My son has just been on the phone to one of his
friends in prison, yes they have cell phones in
jails now.
Anyway, it seems like he's quite enjoying himself.
He's just been to a disco, tomorrow its crazy golf
and sometime next week their going go-carting.
And btw, he's in prison for kidnapp and assault.
