to all who have so candidly and bravely shared, thank you and i can't say how happy i am none of you succeeded. i too have been there on occasion, succeeded in a way once but was brought back. my brother unfortunately was more successful. i share this not for pity, but for the fact that too often the subject goes undiscussed. what i learned from what i went through, what i saw my parents go through, was that it is those of us left behind that truly suffer. a permanent scar which shall never heal. a scar that has kept me from putting those around me through that again. i would normally never share such personal info, especially in a forum, but if my experience helps anyone change their perspective and see things through the eyes of others, i will put myself out there. we are all just one bad day away from forever.

Yes, it is. Been there myself, and so has my baby sister...only she came close to succeeding. And if I suspect someone is approaching it, I do step in to try to help.

Not that I'd recommend it. But it became a solution in a ways for me. I attempted it....Failed...However, my outlook on life is totally different due to my drastic action. I don't look at each day w/ its downs like I used too, however I look at it for its pluses. I do not blame problems on those around me but squarely where my personal decisions begin, w/ myself.

This is not to say that I do not have my days of doom & gloom, we all do, however, there is always a ray of hope amongst the darkness of everything.

As they say, w/ tomorrow brings a better day.

Yes, a permanent solution to a temporary problem that it is within our control to change. And, according to my beliefs, just means you have to return to do this life again b/c you didn't complete your lessons from this one...and I don't want to do that! I've gone through it once, don't want to do it twice! (Not with what I've been through. )

I think we first need to sort out, what is causing all these suicides in the first place. There has to be at least one common denominator.

Very true, Paws. My pics are pretty recent, and my text is very true. I agree that it's hard sometimes because there isn't much to go on in a profile, and you can't tell the chemistry part that way...which is why I prefer finding someone close to me for dating.

I've had some successful dates on other sites, at least one of whom I'm still friends with a year later. We just didn't work out as a couple, but that's OK. I discovered I wasn't really ready yet, anyway.

Here, I've made some friends and I have fun hanging out in the forums. I don't know if I'll ever find someone to date here, but it's OK if I don't. Friends are important too. So, I keep it real...and hope everyone else does too, at least on here.
