I decided to go to an auto parts store to see if I could get a pair of wiper blades FOR my 86 Volkswagen Golf. The clerk said, "That sounds like a fair trade".

I agree. We have become so complacent. Like lambs to the slaughter.

Life happens. Just when we think that things are fine, we end up on a dead-end street, or we turn right when we should have turned left. Despite the subject of this thread, I'm fine. There are people in third world countries who are literally starving to death as I write this; think about it for a moment. No matter how poor we think we are within Western society, people are dying for lack of food and the most basic medicines.

My internet cost alone could likely sustain a family in India....Africa for a month.

We have the recourses to feed the world, but we're to busy deciding which Plasma 42" TV we should buy.

We order pizza while infants are starving.

I met a young man last week who is living next door with his wife (a temporary situation while they sell their house) Since we share web design as a hobby, he came over for coffee a few days ago. During our conversation he became aware of my financial situation. Tonight he came over with 6 large bags of groceries, enough staples to last me 'till next spring.

I didn't know how to feel, a little embarrassed, touched, and fighting my pride. Angels in human form do exist.

Been here a long time. I am a child in a 62 year old body, so at times I scream for attention in posts. In threads, I attempt to add a lifetime of experiences and so called wisdom to the mix.

I know nothing. I am afraid for my life as well as this once beautiful planet. When I was a kid, swimming in the river, I could swallow water without ill-effects, at present, one could almost walk on water for the amount of pollution to stand upon.

Fact is; you may be a creationist or a Darwin fan, nonetheless, we are born, we grow old and we die.

If my decomposed body may fertilise a daisy, then I will live again.

We are so guilt driven; I'm so fat, too skinny, what did I say to turn him/her off ? Why are we alone ? Why do we punish ourselves for events that turned out as they did ?

We are all perfect beings, yet we choose to measure ourselves by religion, culture, parents, politics, crows feet, beer bellies and cellulite.

Do you know who you really are ? Or has your country and culture dictated who you should be ? Just be who you are, but please, learn and grow.
