yes, I think prayers and positive thinking are very similar...basically the same thing in a sense. The thoughts are projected out in the universe to the source. Sometimes prayers are answered, sometimes they are not...as you would percieve it. Ultimately, when something is meant to be, it's going to be or it is not going to be despite the positve thoughts or prayers. It runs on a levely beyond our understanding. It is contigent on one's karma and personal journey...imo. God obviously does not answer all prayers...and there is a reason for this. Think about it on a deeper level and outside the box.

I have come across some pretty amazing stuff also in my church... one day during worship a girl started speaking in tongues... in Greek.... comprehensible Greek even though she never spoke Greek in her life... one of the other girls there (from Greece) was able to translate it.. can't remember exactly now but something about God calling all his children to build his church.. or something to that effect.... this kind of strikes a chord with me.. cause I can recognise it... there is something very significant happening around us.. these are significant times... I myself felt a calling.. but apart from that.. there is a real hunger out there... more and more people are feeling a STRONG need to search the truth... just even look at CS.. just how often are we debating the existence of God.... this is no accident.. IMHO

Sometimes make that decision early enough, means there is a chance of still remaining friends and liking each other enough to still be able to talk, when it becomes clear to both that however much you try one is still for one reason or another never going to be fulfilled in the relationship then let them free. better to have a bit of pain from loss than clinging to something that's no longer there and risking mutual hate?!?!?!

What about all the people who pray for physical healing and eg from cancers etc. you think that is postivive thinking too,it is God who heals! not man who heals oneself!! Prayer can change ones destiny,for eg a mother praying for her son who had joined a cult she prayed fervently and he left it.. and might add he was deeply involved in it...OK a long story cut short but I know this ivdividually personally..

Good pont....prayers are just a means of transferring positive energy. It's up to the individual to come out of a situaiton or it can be up to destiny at that point and time..whether it is time to go or not or be or become....

In related news, Bruce Lee was paralyzed for six months....he used the power of thought to will himself back to recovery....maybe the prayers that sent positive energy helped fuel his positive thoughts and beliefs as to recovering 100 percent.

Prayers brings a sense of peace to individuals....with hope as the biggest motivation.

With that said, a million prayers wil not help change one's personal destiny....it can only send positive waves to that individuals source to gain strenght to break on through.....

these types of threads bite. Everyone is special in their own way ...... some have a bigger impact on us then others - it takes us all interacting to create the forums that we have. Just because someone makes tons of threads or makes lots of posts - doesn't make them anymore special than someone else.
