There are few unconditional loves such as the love poured out of a loving dog.

That said, or rather agreed to. You sound as if you know the answer already. You say "after they get to know you."
OK start there... after they get to know what about you?
I mean they can't know all about you in just a week or 2.
So there must be some sort of progression of info that comes out as time goes by. Ha I love that song and the movie is on tonight!
Sorry, I digress, so as they're getting along in their discovery of
you is there a common point that the interests seem to fade?

Well you have quite a few options to chew over & I have alot of fungus to gumm myself.

Good luck and happy fishing!thumbs up

Hello ladies & thanks for the responses.

Yeah these are huge 9" in diameter, there is no Amanita that large.
Not in the states anyway.

They have to be older and ready to drop spores to poof when you kick them. These are very fresh and firm(ha that oughta get a guy or 2 in here), some are still fist size. If ya have asthma, breathing the spores could be deadly, possibly. I think I read that in an average
sized puffball(of this variety) there are 7 trillion spores.

I believe you are correct about muscaria, be careful, too many of those can put you in a deep sleep, almost coma . I think this is the one that one of the Caesers was killed with. His wife wiped off the white
flakes/warts and fed them to him as Amanita caesarea, which were his favorite.

I was just wondering if anybody had a good recipe.

I'm sure there are the blue bruisers here too, sadly I don't know which ones for sure.

Hey Ms. Trish!wave

Hey all!

Has anybody here ever eaten giant puffballs?

Hahahaha that's funny sounding!
But seriously, has anyone ever had any.

I'm wondering cause I found some down the hill in the backyard.
There's a dozen or so and they're about the size of a soccerball.

The book says they're choice. I was wondering if anyone had any recipes or special ways to prepare them.

If only we all could come to the realization that we're all fools, then,
maybe we could get around to figuring out what types of fools we are!grin

I'm all over the board when it comes to politics. Simply said, I agree with the OP. I am not rich, but I hate knowing that I work my butt off 40+ hours a week to barely make ends meet and have my tax dollars go to someone who doesn't want to work hard.

I grew up on welfare and saw first hand how that system works. Most of my non-immediate family is still on welfare, and here's what I can tell you (note: not everyone is like this. there are a lot of people who just find themselves in tough situations and do work as hard as they can). I have a cousin who has 7 kids and she gets over $3000 a month on welfare for them and her and her husband. She kept having kids only to get more welfare. She told me once "Why should we have to work, when I can just have more kids and make more money on welfare?" I'd love to have half the stuff they do. This system needs a major overhaul. Most of the money is going to the wrong people. When people get "rewarded" for being lazy, something is wrong!

I believe, and want, my tax dollars should go to people who really are in tough times and need help. Those who work hard, but don't earn enough to support their families. And I don't care what people say, there are jobs out there. I see help wanted ads everywhere I go.

BUT... at the same time I also know a few people who work two jobs, don't splurge, and barely make ends meet, and can't get any help from the government because they "don't qualify."

Forgive me please, but anyone that has children to get money should be sterilized. If only temporarily until they can afford any children they have or want to have! My sister & her offspring included!

It is, though sadly, not infailable. There are the mistakes made by people & even worse some people working in the labs that shouldn't be(no integrity).

So of all the terrified people worrying about it, how many have been tested? You know just to be sure you're not infected & spreading it?

Get tested and know!!!!

It is a sad, horrible thing(HIV).

They've actually closed the window down from 6mos to about 11 days, depending on the test method used.

Still a frightening prospect, none the less!
