now i know what u r going to say and yes i realize that i am making a general statement and that there will be men who do, but so far, in my own prsonal experience, i have found it not to be the case. sometimes it doesnt take long to discern this and other times it has taken weeks. is it a case of me being particularly good at attracting weasels, that my instincts dont work in text and are sometimes confused when meeting, that i need to lower my expectations and align them to those of the men i seem to be running in to or that i am a loony and dont know what i am talking about lol.
feel free to share your two cents worth, male or female. i just want to see if i am the only one who is coming across this at the moment.
thanks

i love fancy dress and the ones where u dont have to hire costumes are better. what about famous people, had an abraham lincoln a teletubbie and 6 marilyns turn up to a party once. or if its a couples party well known couples abbott and costello, ragetty anne and andy popeye and olive oil. song titles is a good one and often hard to guess but easy to dress up to especially with older songs. my last birthday we had beastly bridesmaids and ghastly groomsmen. all the girls had to come in a horrid bridesmaids dress (most had at least 2 in the cupboard lol) and the guys in bad suits. op shops r ur friend for that one. movie characters that the actor/actress won an oscar playing, or movie charactors in general. but beware of freddy krueger and edward scissor hands when drunk - u shouldnt run with sharp objects lol.

I figure if i am shaved the least a guy can do is have smooth balls. I dont mind a hairy chest, its a hairy back and bum that makes me want to get my wax strips out. But what about the face. I like clean shaven or a goatie/beard but i hate the prickles that makes my face feel like i wiped my mouth with a cheesegrater. Perpetual problem with someone who likes to kiss as much as i do

its hard to read tone of voice when chatting but in a lot of ways i think ur odds are the same as in real life. obviously chatting systems like msn are better than email for instant communicating but if u get a charmer in real life who spins such a good web that it takes u months to figure out he is married whats the difference between that and other scenarios like he is a closet psychopath and liars liars on the internet. having body language clues is only a bonus if u know how to read them well. i think its a chemistry thing and that can only be sussed in person. the internet should be viewed as the vehicle ot introduce u to new people, the rest u do in person.

long distance relationships are tough, i know, every single one of mine have been. i often think about what was harder, the ones that were long distance dating or the relationships that became long distance onece we were established. trying to get to know someone from afar took a lot of effort but it was a lot of fun. that new love enthusiasm made u want to try. u learn to communicate better and pick up on subtleties in tone of voice. sex didnt complicate the real emotions but the lack of anything physical was frustrating and a burden. the distractions of everyday life often took their toll and the effort was often wasted once the distance was no longer a problem as it usually fell apart. those that became long distance were different since the bond was established but the longing and separation became physical as well as emotional pains. if u couldnt readjust your communication styles then it fell apart and if the trust wasnt completely there it could bite into you. jealousy and envy from both sides rear often from sheer longing to be there and resentment at circumstances can play a major role. the whole readjustment period when back together for a short time usually lasted until just before being parted again. either way its not easy but if u want it bad enough you can do it. lucky its just the other end of a tiny country and not a continent or overseas
