If you're never scared or embarrassed or hurt, it means you never take any chances.
--Julia Soul

Do we avoid making new friends because we're scared they won't like us? Do we get embarrassed when we make a mistake and avoid trying again? When we get our feelings hurt, do we think we're bad, or that something is wrong with us?

Being scared or shy or hurt are all part of being alive. When we try to stay away from painful feelings, we keep ourselves from having many wonderful adventures. If we're afraid to meet new people, we may never have any close friends. If we stop trying when we're embarrassed, we may never learn a better way of doing things. And if we don't share our hurt feelings, we may never find out that everyone else has the same feelings we have.

John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets', and ten roosters, whose job it was to fertilize the eggs.

The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. That took an awful lot of his time, so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells.

The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, a very fine specimen he was, too. But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! John went to investigate.

The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover.

But to Farmer John's amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Renfrew County Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.

The result...The judges not only awarded old Butch the No Bell Piece Prize but they awarded him the Pulletsurprise as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making: who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.

It's been so painful to watch you settle for less and less in
your life..... You have replaced love with lust; you take but
you stopped giving. Lately my attempts to engage your
heart have been thwarted by regret and sabotaged by bad
memories. These memories are what you use to justify being
emotionally detached, lustful, and selfish.

Spend a few minutes every morning and evening in the Silence
of your own shrine or home; spend them with the highest of all
the Powers that you know of. Be in His elevating and Inspiring
company; worship Him mentally; offer unto Him all the work you
do; you will come out of the silence nobler and more heroic than
when you went in .

Unconditionally Me

by Jim Messina

I am who I am

You cannot change me so please do not try

So let up with the criticisms, put downs and attempts to make me fit your "box" for me

Face it, it is easier for you just to accept me as I am than to work at making me who you want me to be

Of course you do not have to agree with what I say or do

Just accept me as the human I am

I am weak, have sinned, failed, and have made many mistakes in my life

Hey, that's what makes me the "unique me" that I am

I will never be perfect, ideal, or the "image" you want for me

Accept me for who I am as I accept you for who you are

Let's have fun together and allow our "real selves" the freedom to be "us"

We can be a team of unconditional mutual love and acceptance if you relax and let it happen

WAY BACK WHEN, a famous gentleman said, "Government is not the solution to the problem, government is the problem".

I somewhat disagree. If I correctly remember my U.S. History (but I am old and senile) we are a government of the people for the people. "PEOPLE" have become sheep. "PEOPLE" want everything done for them. "PEOPLE" want a free ride ("social" services). "PEOPLE" are not willing to get off there ass and make something of themselves. "PEOPLE" no longer believe in in "One Nation Under God", "PEOPLE" have become creatures of self. "
PEOPLE" want what they want, want others to think they way they think, think they are better than and could care less about the poor sap across the street.

WAKE UP AMERICA (PEOPLE)...

This is just my "opinion", I will not bore you with facts..wink

Do I ever find myself around people who are negative? Are these people constantly complaining or criticizing others or their situation? Am I starting to feel like they're affecting my attitude or outlook?

I don't have to give other people that much power over my life. I can choose how I feel and what kind of attitude I have. I don't have to listen to the negativity of others. I can set an example for them by making positive statements or by having a positive attitude toward them.

Some people simply aren't happy unless they're unhappy. Today I will choose not to be one of them.

I have many things in my life to be grateful for, and I will not let the negativity of others affect me.

:A few weeks ago I read a joke ... it said all the politicians running for president are promising change to the American people. We send them billions and billions of tax dollars and they send us the change. Funny? Not really; there is too much truth in it to be funny.

That got me to thinking ... they all promise change. How about if they run on a promise of restoration rather than change. A restoration that would take us back in time to a place where things ran better, smoother and life was more enjoyable. Change? That, in truth, is what they have been giving us all along.

We used to have a strong dollar ... politicians changed that.

Life used to be sacred ... politicians changed that.

Marriage used to be sacred ... politicians are changing that.

We used to be respected around the world ... politicians changed that.

We used to have a strong manufacturing economy ... politicians changed that.

We used to have lower tax structures .. politicians changed that.

We used to enjoy more freedoms ... politicians changed that.

We used to be a large exporter of American made goods ... politicians changed that.

We used to be an openly Christian nation .... politicians changed that.

We used to teach patriotism in schools .. politicians changed that.

We used to educate children in schools .. politicians changed that.

We used to enjoy freedom of speech ... politicians changed that.

WE used to have affordable food and gas prices...politicians changed that, too.

...and one could go on and on with this list. What hasn't been changed, politicians are promising to change that as well if you will elect them. When, oh when, is America going to sit back with open eyes and look at what we once were and where we have come and say, enough is enough? The trouble is, America 's youthful voters today don't know of the great America that existed forty and fifty years ago. They see the world as if it has always existed, as it is now. When will we wake up? Tomorrow may be too late. When will America realize ...

Politicians are what is wrong with America !
