antcus: Very good topic Imma.

It is very important that you make a distinction between dreams and being sensitive to certain things.(spirits and presences)

Dreams are born of recurring thoughts that we carry in our subconscious mind. Sensing the presence of somebody, especially if it is the same person, may be the result of the persistence of that person to contact you. Such spirits choose the most quiet time of the day to do it, and that is night time for uis humans.

If this situation is causing a serious emotional imbalance to you, and fear, I suggest you go to a specialist who is proficient in EFT (emotion free techniques). It is a fantactic new science, where you are asked to go to core issues in question. You might be asked questions about your grandfather and the way you interacted with him, and come to discover why you keep dreaming of him, or why he is trying to comunicate with you.....maybe he needs to tell you something important that he did not succeed to tell you in his lifetime. It may be worth discovering that.

Go to any search engine and type "emo free techniqies Gary Craig", and discover a new world. Rid yourself of all fears and phobias and live in traquility.

Thanks Antcus. I will check it out. But I must say that I am quite uncomfortable with such matters. 4 years of living in West Africa with family members that were heavily involved in some heavy spiritual and ritualistic practises made me always think not to dabble in things I do not understand. My grandfather was a high order free mason and that just scares the plain sh** out of me. Not to mention their involvement in juju and manche/manye matters. Frankly I think I would rather not hear any message he might or might not have to tell me. But....ah, I don't know...

smoky: Today my village had its first snow! Lovely, beautiful ..... all floaty and white drifting down .......Gosh, imagine if the snow was black?!!!!! So I`m real grateful that its at least white! ... or if it was another colour...like red ... and afterwards everything was stained until the new spring growth manages to emerge green again?!

Anyone else had snow yet? ......

Going home in 25 days. It's been 2 years since I have been back in Canada. I am being picked up at the airport and we are heading straight up to the Muskokas which is always a beautiful winter wonderland at this time of year. The old wood cottage is on Salmon Lake, not a lot of people, lots and lots and lots of forest, a bit of wildlife and a lovely lake on which we can make snow angels and skidoo. I cannot wait. It does not seems to snow much here in The Hague, but the wind storms are really cool. snowed in

Elley: Many decades ago my grandmother(maternal)lost so many children around Xmas time that she forever hated Xmas.Wouldn,t even have a tree.Personally I hate it,I get less income and higher costs, got four birthdays during the same month to buy for.Tis in my opi just one big insincere binge.

That is horrible for your grandmother. In my family, twas the month of October that was full of death and dying. We all dread it now. But yes, Christmas has become a time of binge, conspicuous consumption and crazed commercialism...

I try to put on a 'face' for the kids I teach...sigh...

Tulefel: I don’t get warm and full of good cheer because of Christmas, but there’s no grumpiness either.

I’m even worst that that – I’m a heretic. And I plan to sleep throughout Christmas time…

Christmas commercials don’t irritate me as I don’t watch TV. Pre-Christmas hysterical gift purchasing doesn’t affect me as I never buy Christmas gifts. And it’s rather pleasant with all light garlands around as it’s dark already at 4 pm here…

My beloved holiday is New Year night… then I will celebrate!

Tules,
I know it was not the intention, but your post made me sad. Ah well, tomorrow is another day....

How come calories don't seem to matter after 10 p.m.?

How come men (or women) seem more interested when you are already in a 'relationship'?

How come that shadow is still under the door even though nothing seems to be casting it?

AudrysSis: He he, well I feel indifferent - not affected by Christmas either way. I hope to be babysitting one of my 4-legged kids or grandkids over Xmas, that would be the most beautiful and meaningful thing for me to do.

Hello Audry,

I will raise a glass of eggnog to you on Christmas. Do enjoy! hug

Ghost, we got it covered. I can take care of the sabotage in The Netherlands, Canada (going home for the holiday) and West Africa (if I get my mom on board)..You've got Malta right? I have this whole plan for world conspiratorial acts (but it is secret - can't share it with everyone)

Oh my, I think I might have had too much coffee!

blues

Ok, I will share, it involves handing out ex-lax to anyone who is not 'with us', hiding all the TP and running away really quickly...We come back after 3 hours and the world is ours...

I can't find the maniacal devious crazed person emoticon.

Ok, I'm off for now as I think I have lost my mind....wave

Looking forward to Xmas again this year and am glad I am out of the hype.

Englishman55: In some respects I prefer the Italian Christmas.
It is treated very seriously as a religious festival, so none of the hipe and trivial crap that comes from the marketing men.

Obviously there is a commercial aspect to it, but it's taken far more seriously.

Christmas day is always quite sombre, with much church going and family festivities.

New Year.... now thats when the party starts !!

I was in Roma for Christmas. I was boarding in a convent run by German nuns (because I do speak a bit of German - long story as to why I was in a convent, but never mind). The nuns brought me wine every night and ended up moving me to a room with a balcony because I smoked at the time and they couldn't stand the smell of my smoke wafting through the convent. But, for Christmas I walked over to St. Peter's Cathedral. It was packed and I watched the festivities. Quite cool actually. A bit over my head, but cool. Afterwards walked in the streets and met an Italian man who took me on a walking tour. It was lovely. New Year's eve that year was in Firenze...a mad evening spent with a group of other tourists who were travelling and wondered into the same establishment I was at. Left there and spent a few days in Milano. Trekked to the top of the Il Duomo and heard Christmas carols wafting up from the street. That was nice as it was not in my face!!! Just sort of mellow. Nice it was.
