Hot_T....your love interest was totally obsessive and it was good that you dumped him like a pile of poop! There's nothing cute or flattering for ANY man to be obsessive! Glad you're free of him.

JAG....I'm not sure about YOUR guy, but I'd be very cautious over the next few days. If he's already saying he's in love with you, I've got my doubts about you even meeting him. BE VERY CAREFUL. The more you say about him, the more I'm not liking his personality.

DAKOTA...good for you having such a great boss and a great job for 7 years. It's so important to love what you do for a living.

Aquiestoy......I don't believe I'll be calling the Professor. I've got a feeling he's much younger than 68. In fact, I'd bet dollars to donuts he's in his 30's!! Older gentleman just don't phrase sentences the way he does. We'll see if he answers my e-mail. I said, "It's really cool that you're a Professor in Communications. My grandson is majoring in it. What college are you affiliated with?" I kinda slipped in the "grandson" AND the last question, so we'll see if he answers.

DAKOTA...glad to see you. Oh for SURE we cannot be too careful about giving our phone #'s to anyone who comes along. So many men think they're God's gift and that we are all sitting around waiting for one of them to acknowledge us.

FYI....have you noticed how many people are curiously reading our topics but not answering? It's amazing. Too many lurkers and not enough posters!
Thanks for the advise Sandals...you always seem to have the voice of reason...I will take you advise and go Very Slow and may put a period on this soon. I will keep my "radar detector" on at all times wow!

Hot T

He has not gone that far.....yet....but he is telling me that he is falling in love with me more everyday..At least we are beyond 2 days....about 2 weeks now..lol...But that is way too fast...

He has said that we will go at my speed. It is just the factor of not wanting to hurt him. If I thought that he would be happy with the "friends only" aspect then that would be great...but I don't think he will....

In response to:
JAG.....I TOTALLY understand your concern over this situation. It's never easy to back out of a situation you're not comfortable in. I'd say it's NOT going to work for you with him because pictures are worth a thousand words. If he's not butt ugly in the pic, he COULD BE in person! OMG...don'tcha feel bad? Does he have nice teeth? A good smile? SOMETHING going for him?

What the heck. IF he said he's okay being friends, then go for THAT aspect of it. Slowly back yourself out of any cozy conversations or those that hint at being a match made in heaven!
Sandals

He does have "something" going for him. He is slender, no pot gut, praportional, not really smiling so not sure about that.. wears glasses so can't really see his eyes....The biggest thing going for him is not his looks...it is his very kind and warm heart. I feel like that heart could be easily hurt by me too and I would never want to hurt anyone.

Have seen two...One a close head shot and the other full body...good lighting...nothing hidden and the pics were taken the day he posted them because you could see the "date stamp" on them.

In response to:
thats a hard one.. well i´d say for me... i am not looking for a hunk anyways.. if he has just something special myáybe nice eyes a cute smile ..well if i talked to the guy for a while and then his picture was okay looking i would go for it.. if it was totally ugly..sorry for that.. i dont think i could do it...like i said looks arent everything but i still wanna wake up to someone halfway decent looking and not quasimodo..okay.. sorry.i´d have to take a step back and maybe meet the guy in reality since a poicture can be wrong.. or let him sent like 20 pictures..lol.. but if it doesnt go it just doesn´t..and honesty is also the respect that he deserves..right??
Thanks Dakota...wise words.

He is not "butt ugly" but he really looks so much older than I do and he is 2 years younger and it isn't just the age thing as far as looks go either.

I have really been considering meeting him. He does live about 150 miles away and he has already talked about coming up for a weekend..him NOT staying with me..and that was his idea. He assumed nothing.

My greatest fear is that he will become much more "attached", for want of a better word, to me and that I would be hurting him and I never want to do that....I actually told him, after seeing his photo, that there was no chemistry....I am all about honesty. He still says that friendship would be ok too but in the back of my mind, he does want more than that.....I am really afraid of appearing to lead him on and I sure don't want to do that.frustrated

I have a question for all of you ladies...

What if you have been talking, emails, phone, etc., with a guy and he is really wonderful and you are a bit smitten....then when he finally gets around to posting a picture...and there is just no chemistry at all......How do you handle this?...I kind of have the situation now, from another site. He seems to be such a great guy..Really good communication and a great listener. Truely seems to care.

I am feeling pretty shallow about this, so please any advise welcome!sigh

JAG...you're right! Photos ARE a must. Now that I think of it, I'm going to ask him the name of his college. THEN I'll google it and go into "STAFF." His picture should BE there!
WOW....What a great idea! You do that very thing and if he is for real, he will have no problem giving you the information you need...

I make it a habit to Google a guys name, once I have it....Have found some interesting information that way. professor

Dakota, I would agree with you that lots of men would rather talk on the phone rather than on-line, BUT...he's a college Professor in "Communications." It shouldn't matter WHAT kind of communication!

I'm very leary about this guy and haven't responded to his 2nd e-mail yet....thinking about what to say.
Photo a MUST! I always wonder what they are hiding...Had a guy recently contact me, with no photo and when I asked to see one....He told me his computer wasn't able to do that...confused

BUT if I would give him my address, he would mail me on.....Talk aboud Red Flags!!!thumbs down

Needless to say, I have not answered any more of his emails. applause

I met someone I got to know on another site, we had even talked on the phone for hours, for coffee. When he walked into the coffee shop, I paid no attention to him until he walked up and said "Hi"....First thing I wanted to ask him was...."Who are you and what have you done with the guy I have been talking to?"

He looked nothing like his photo...As a matter of fact, the picture he had posted was not even him but one he had pulled off the internet!

Don't people realize that one day you just might meet someone face to face.....How do you explain yourself...."Ahhh....I was in a bad car wreck and the Doctors had to reconstruct my face". And I would say "I want to know your Doctor since he (or she) also was able to get your 6'2", 200 lb all muscle body, jammed into that 5'8" 300 lb one I see you in now"...."I sure hope you sued the sucker!"

I always make sure that my photos are current and the way I look now....Sure don't want some one I meet saying..."Who the hell are you? !"
