Sarah Palin´s distinguished education.....

She began college at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school in Honolulu. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said.

Then known as Sarah Louise Heath, she was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said.

"We're trying to track down someone who knew her," Lopez added.

From Hawaii Pacific, Palin transferred to North Idaho College, a two-year school in Coeur d'Alene, about 30 miles east of Spokane. She attended the college as a general studies major for two semesters, in spring 1983 and fall 1983, spokeswoman Stacy Hudson said.

"We were not able to track down club affiliations or anything," Hudson said.

The school identified one of her professors but he did not remember her, Hudson said.

From North Idaho College, Palin transferred 70 miles south to the University of Idaho, the state's flagship institution. She majored in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news. She attended Idaho, whose mascot is the Vandals, from fall 1984 to spring 1985.

She then returned to Alaska to attend Matanuska-Susitna College in Palmer in fall 1985.

Then she returned to Idaho, for spring 1986, fall 1986 and spring 1987, when she graduated. Despite her journalism degree, she does not appear to have worked for the college newspaper or campus television station, school officials said. She worked briefly as a sportscaster for KTUU in Anchorage after she graduated college.laugh

I had one of those pain in the butt customers at the bar who complained about everything... I had finally had enough when he complained that the ice cubes were to big... I turned to him and said "What do you want me to do... put it in my mouth till it gets small...foot blushing

... or the customer who asked if she could have sex on the beach (a cocktail) and I told her she would have to ask her husband. laugh

The other thing that doesn´t impress me about Sarah, (yeah, you do feel quite comfortable on a first name basis with the lady...laugh ) Is her education... it took her 5 years and 5 different schools to get a degree in journalism... it took me 3 years to get a double major while being a single mom... dunno

Yes, I know some people who think at least the former. Yet these people, whom I know, not speaking for your friends, would be quite happy to see the Italian economy go down the shute, just because they don't like Berlusconi's personality. And possibly because he owns many of Italy's television stations, one of the richest men in the world, part of the newspaper press, at least his son does latter, and so on. (I grant Italy has never quite concerned itslef with the concept of a conflict of interest. I don't think that notion exists there!).

Yet he is the only one of the leaders in decades that Italy has had, that can actually hold parliament together. And if Veltrone had been leader now, the Italian airline, Alitalia would definitely have gone down the gurgler at this time!

Personally I don´t know nearly enough about Italian politics to have an opinion on Berlusconi one way or the other... but I think the biggest problem my friends have is the fact that he is so connected to the media and they are uncomfortable with the idea that there may not be any impartial news or information... so for the young people,at least... the conflict of interest is a major factor in their feelings about him... this is from a younger persons point of view... most of my friends there are in the 23 to 36 year age bracket.

I personally would not vote for any of them. Apart from possibly, only possibly, Hilary Clinton, before she lost the race.

apart from our current Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd, who is an intelligent and refreshing leader to have in this country, I generally find most candidates across the globe, to be quite wanting.

Having said that, Silvio Berlusconi would have to be one of the most intriguing leaders of our modern world. But that is for another thread, maybe on on CS.it !!!

laugh laugh I have some very good friends in Italy who have a saying.... "It will be a good day when I wake up and Berlusconi is no longer in office and the Pope has moved back to France...laugh

laugh laugh I loved the title of this thread and just couldn´t resist! In spite of some of her views which I disagree strongly with, she seems to have a fairly infectious personality... someone I could imaging sharing a bottle of wine and a good conversation with... is this something I would look for in a world leader??? No way in hell!!!!!!!

America is in a crisis... I want someone in office who is a visionary... who has a much better grasp of economics and how it will play out one or two years down the road... I want an Ivy leaguer or better... someone who I don´t understand half of what they say because they are so much more intelligent then I am...

Why would you want someone that you can relate to, someone on the same level you are? I want to see a friggin´ economic and political genius in office... not someone I want to share a bottle of wine with...

Alot of them who dont answer back, are not the nice ladies out there.

No, I have to disagree... I started out answering all of my emails and flowers and couldn´t understand why all the other women didn´t... until I learned the hard way, if I said thank you for the interest but I´m not interested because... to young, to old, to far away, wants kids, has young kids.... I got nasty emails back.

So now, unless I´m interested or I see they have taken a lot of time to write something... I ignore and don´t have any more problems. I´m amazed at how many men say that they loved my profile or think we have so much in common, but when I look at their profile I realize that they haven´t read mine... if they had they would have known it wasn´t a possible match.

For me... flirting is like everything else, it takes practice and CS is a great place to practice. I´ve found myself being more flirtatious when I´m out then what I used to be... My brain just gets in that mode and before I know it... the little sexual innuendos etc are popping out... not sure if that´s good or not... laugh

Statistics show that more couples meet at or through work then anywhere else... so it seem to be pretty acceptable...

When I was a construction secretary most of my lunch hours were with one vendor or another....laugh

Not at all...you are in the mainstream thinking that someone who is an "instant" romantic is out of the norm.

I couldn't be romantic with someone unless we BOTH knew the relationship was headed towards something special.

Spread the word to guys who think it´s ok to start out being all "romantic" that they´re doing the rest of you who know that romance has a time and place, no favours... now when I read the word romantic in a profile... I quickly move on.

Everything is so personal and what is romantic for one person is not for another. No rules there.

Two people need to know each other well enough, otherwise, issues of 'creepiness' already mentiioned surface.

My parents have been married over 50 years. My father came over one day, and saw violets growing in my front garden (I noticed they are blooming again, now it is spring here). He stopped all excited, and as he stooped to pick some he said with such delight, "Violets are your mother's favourite flowers'. I was stunned to see this behaviour in my father, as they are known for the odd argument or two. He was pleased as punch to be able to present her with the tiny posie he had cllected!

Certainly not an everyday occurrence from him,lol

That´s sooooo sweet! My parents have also been married over 50 years and still show love for each other in so many different ways. Every holiday my Dad quizzes us girls on stuff for my Mom, he remembers things in stores that she commented on... he goes to so much trouble to make sure what he gets her is something that she really wants.

Taking that kind of time and consideration when buying a gift is really romantic. I´d rather receive something that costs 5 dollars that someone bought because they remembered I said I liked it... then to go out and spend 200 on something because it´s expensive or the sales lady said it was the "in thing".

So I guess for me what romance really is... it´s when someone is paying enough attention, everyday to the things you say and do to know what makes you feel happy and loved, then makes the effort to make you feel that way.

Thanks JB...

I totally agree with you. Why would someone try to romance another without knowing them 1st?

That's a tad bit creepy.

I also believe you can overdo it. Maybe once a week doing something romantic validates your love for them.

Yet it happens often enough that I had been thinking lately that I just wasn´t the romantic type... I keep pulling away from guys... 3 in just the past month. that after the first or second conversation got to a point that I couldn´t even sign in without a "Hi sweetheart, how was your day?... or I missed you... blah blah blah... so it´s not just me that finds it creepy when someone gets all romantic on you after one or two conversations...?

laugh
