Unseen Friends

We sit and we type, and we stare at our screens.
We all have to wonder, what this possibly means.
With our mouse we roam, through the rooms in a maze,
Looking for something or someone, as we with in a daze.

We chat with each other, we type all our woes
Small groups we do form, and gang up on our foes.
We wait for somebody, to type out our name.
We want recognition, but it is always the same.

We give kisses and hugs, and sometimes flirt.
In PM's we chat deeply, and reveal why we hurt.
We do form friendships - but - how, we don't know
But some of these friendships, will flourish and grow.

Why is it on screen that we can be so bold
Telling our secrets, that have never been told.
Why is it we share the thought in our mind
With those we can't see, as though we were blind.

The answer is simple, it is as clear as a bell.
We all have our problems, and need someone to tell.
We can't tell real people, but tell someone we must,
So we turn to the 'puter, and to those we can trust.

Even though it is crazy, the truth still remains
They are Friends Without Faces, and odd little names.

I'm English,,,and I have to say this in response to your quote.

No sensible person blames any single or small group of American citizens for the ills of the World that American politicians have created.

As no one should see fault with any other nations "people" because their politicians have made a bad call.

The politicians in all countires are riding rough shod over their people.

Here in GB,,,our money,,collected by tax WILL be given to the banks to support them from crashing.
We will then borrow our own money back at a 7% rate.

Thats a fact.
But would anyone dare to say I'm a idiot for allowing it?

So lets all remember this.
Divided we will surely fall.....so lets stop with the personal stuff.
If we have a problem with American politicians or policies...Then state it,,,don't just say Americans,,or Brits...its couple of extra words to write,,but it would help understanding and cause less friction between us all,,the peoples of both great nations

I don’t think I was actually referring to individuals but rather about your country as a whole, for which all people living there have to take some responsibility, I also never said that the UK was much better, but as you raise the point: the UK is trying to combat the irresponsible misuse of natural resources. Together with the rest of Europe, by cutting down carbon footprints and by reducing the pollution created by the car Etc.
I lived and worked for some years in the US and have seen at first hand the total disregard towards wasting resources.
I would add that as individuals, I found most of the indigenous people very nice, caring and genuine, but as a country you need to wake up and smell the coffee, (preferably Free trade).
