The debate in the scientific community has been over for generations but the religious community still likes to muddy the water with the 'let's hear the other side of the debate' argument. Which is disenginuous to put it nicely. It fails the scientific method every time.
Creationism, or intell design, is not science so if you want it taught, teach it in religious studies or philosophy classes.
I agree. The debate of creationism as a possiblity, has been over for several decades.
I come from a very long line of
"Christian warriors."This isn't my name for it, they actually call themselves that.
They believe that every word in the bible was spoken by a god, to a man and written down word for word.
They believe that
"colored people" (again, their expression, not mine)
were created by a god
"that way" so that "
decent people could indentify the devil's minions."I shit you not.
As a result, i cannot stand the christian way of thinking.
It's childish and simple-minded to the Nth degree.
I have no trouble understanding that i probably have a common ancestor with primates that still swing from trees today.
I have a lot of trouble even entertianing the idea while drinking heavily
that this place was populated by some divine incest.
Sorry, but i have thought about this a lot, and i grew up with these people that insist that i'm somehow
"fighting against god" when i think for myself.
Childish and simple-minded.
300 years ago doctors were still drilling holes in heads to "let the demons out."
I can only imagine, and hope, that several hundred years from now people will look back at the concept of creationism and wonder what the hell we were thinking.
