I just heard that Phil saw his shadow. Now we're stuck with six more weeks of winter. I've had enoughcrying I need some sunshine. I'm not sure if Phil controls the climate in Europe but he is definitely the main prognosticator on this side of the big pond. http://www.people.vcu.edu/~jwcain/punxsutawney-phil.jpg

I'm not sure how to post a photo here so I can't show you Phil confused

Would someone please let me know how to post photos or videos in the forums?

I learned that the hard way. if you date is talking to much about their ex they are not over her/him. I made that mistake on many first (and last dates) I had for the first year + after my divorce. The truth was I wasn't ready for another relationship. Probably the same could be said for anyone obsessing about their ex

I think a big reason is that most "regulars" on here live very far away from each other. A date involving a compatible CS member could very well involve a 4,000 + mile plane ride. Pretty tough to be more then acquaintances. dunno handshake

Yes, I look at how tall someone is. Can't do shorter, and a lot of the time when I see a man post 5 foot 9 they are really 5 foot 8 hehehe. too funny.

But before I even look at how tall they are, I look to see if they are mentally stable, if they put a young age of 18 and they are in their 30's and up........well it's called the delete button.

I guess I should have said I was 6' if everyone assumes you're lying. I'm 5' 11" and that's what my profile states. 6'2" in heels lol. dancing

Did you read this recently. It's amazing how there hasn't been much discussion about it in the weekly Presidential debates. Comments???

According to Yahoo News, France is the healthcare leader and the U.S. is last in a new study. France is first in providing timely and effective healthcare to its citizens. The study measured developed countries’ effectiveness at providing timely and effective healthcare. The study, conducted by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, looked at death rates in subjects younger than 75 that could have been prevented by timely and effective medical care.

The study showed that most countries preventable deaths decline by an average of 16 percent, while the United States shown only 4 percent. The Commonwealth Fund that financed the study showed alarm at the findings. The Commonwealth Fund Senior Vice President Cathy Schoen stated that "other countries are reducing preventable deaths more rapidly, yet spending far less."

The 19 countries, in order of best to worst, were: France, Japan, Australia, Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Researchers stated that if the United States had performed as well as the top three industrialized countries, there would have been 101,000 fewer deaths per year. Ellen Nolte, lead author of the study, stated that “It is notable that all countries have improved substantially except for the United States"

Tax Policy Center of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution has analyzed these tax-cut measures. The Tax Policy Center has found:

* Some 54 percent of the tax cuts from go to households with incomes of more than $1 million a year, the top 0.2 percent of households. Another 43 percent of the tax-cut benefits will go to the 3.5 percent of households with incomes between $200,000 and $1 million. Thus, 97 percent of the tax cuts from these two provisions will go to the 3.7 percent of households with incomes over $200,000.

* That leaves only 3 percent of the tax-cut benefits for the 96 percent of U.S. households with incomes below $200,000. That 3 percent of the tax cuts will go almost entirely to households in the $100,000-$200,000 range. Essentially none of the benefits will flow to families with incomes under $100,000

I congratulate you because based on your posts you must be earning a minimum of $500,000 per year.
The only way Republicans can get elected is to convince the people that they are screwing that it is in their best interest to be screwed. It's amazing how many people vote against their interests.

I take it you believe in trickle down (or Voodoo as Papa Bush called it) Economics. If you can just manage to allow the super wealthy to hold on to more of their money they will use their savings to hire more illegals to mow their lawns and hopefully trim their "BUSHES"

Almost all of the comments you made in your original post on this thread don't express my views and I consider myself a Liberal Democrat.
I think you would have a much harder time disputing my characterization of "a good republican"

I would prefer leaving politics off this site but when I read posts like yours they're hard to ignore.

Some ways to prove your a good Republican. Even a cave man wouldn't believe this crap.

Saddam was a good guy when Reagan armed him, a bad guy when Bush's daddy made war on him, a good guy when Cheney did business with him and then a bad guy when Bush said so.

Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.

A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but
multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind
without regulation.

Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuals and Hillary
Clinton.

The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in
speeches while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.

If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.

A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then
demand their cooperation and money.

Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy. Providing health care
to all Americans is socialism.

HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at
heart.

Global warming and tobacco's link to cancer are junk science, but
creationism should be taught in schools.

A president lying about an extramarital affair is a impeachable offense.
A president lying to enlist support for a war in which thousands die is
solid defense policy.

Being a drug addict is a moral failing and a crime, unless you're a
conservative radio host. Then it's an illness and you need our prayers for your recovery.

You support states' rights, which means the Attorney General can
tell states what local voter initiatives they have the right to adopt.

What Bill Clinton did in the 1960s is of vital national interest, but what
Bush did in the '80s is irrelevant.

The Wizard of OZ, no doubt. They used to play it once once per year I think on Easter Sunday. Forget Freddie Kruger, Jason, Alien, Predator or Chucky. There was no one or nothing more frightening than The Wicked Witch of the West. "I'm going to get you my little pretty" I used to watch it between my fingers. uh oh!

Thanks Cathy. I am planning on traveling there in the late Spring. Does Ireland have any regulations regarding mandatory vacation time? I have 4 weeks currently and I'm sure I could keep my current benefits. I was just wondering if the standard benefits were better in Ireland. I know they are in much of Europe. wave

The company I work for has a production facility in Letterkenny. Since my dream is to relocate to Europe it would obviously be a lot easier to go there with a job. Plus I'm Irish-American and they speak a form of English lol.rolling eyes

I'm sure I would be able to transfer there but it might take a few years to find the right opportunity. Since there are a lot of people from Ireland on this site maybe you could tell me your impressions of the city and the area. I know it won't be warm there but based on my limited knowledge it doesn't get that cold there either (when compared to Ohio) Any suggestions??? confused
