druidess6308: Thank you, Ken. I'm okay. It's another of those mixed ones...sad that he's gone, glad that it's over. I totally understand how his wife has felt for the past month. I've walked in those shoes. And funny, I was just talking about this last night.
He did manage to hang in until his daughter and grandson could make it up again, even though his grandson got delayed overnight, so he was able to have his whole family there when he passed.
I had the same thing happen a year ago Dru. A great friend who was older had a stroke. He went into a coma and I never got the chance to say goodbye and tell him I loved him.
But at his funeral, I realized I don't have to say goodbye because I will never forget him in my head or my heart. And everyone at his funeral felt the same way. He was an amazing man who gave so much of himself to his friends.
Even after a year, me and my friends have conversations and Bernie is always mentioned...God bless you my friend.
