I am a caregiver to a 96 year old man, for the past year and a half. He is pretty independent,just needs me because of a failing memory. And I tell you, he gives me as much as I give him. I love sitting around listening to all the history he, and his friends have lived through. At this point I am like one of the family. So yes I am attached. I think one of his saddest remarks has been, the problem with getting this old is,all your friends die on you. I think my most important job is, staying positive and keeping his spirits up.
