Last Oct., I was deemed by my doctor as disabled due to Spinal Chord Stenosis. I applied for disability benefits. Today my claim was turned down. I have been told that here in Ontario, they automatically reject 90% of claims, (hoping you'll go away) yet at the same time they offer a free lawyer to appeal your claim. Governments, for the people ? WTF ?

Paws, I recall having to help someone fill out some disability papers, and they were long, detailed and very repititive. yes, that one was a sucess, thank goodness. Paws, do not give up! Take the the paper back to your doctor, and have him look at it, then get him to give you a new letter. After working so hard in this country, you deserve to be treated far better than this.

It has nothing to do with thinking negative........ just out of concern for people that are vulnerable and being missed diagnosed or given the wrong advise based on information passed back and forth via the internet. Call it being practical........ not self centered, scared or with a negative attitude.

I believe I understand where you are coming from. You really don't want those that really should seek a medical doctor's advice, thinking this is a cure all site. However, he does have a point about negative thinking in that people who think it can't work really don't reap the benefits that it should.

On another site, there were a group of parents dealing with trying to date and looking after a child/children/or aging parent that has a disability.

Some posted what they were going through or asked questions on how to deal with dating or just trying to have a social life.

The discussions or posts people gave were very interesting and varied. Parents dealing this situation or not, responded.

I am very interested in the opinions and feelings the people on this site have regarding this subject.

The actor William Christopher wrote a book called "Mixed Blessing". JMO, it's the best way to describe what it's like for most parents of any child.

I can only say that it would be difficult to juggle dating and looking after ones kids who are normal, and it would even be moreso with looking after kids with a disability as well as one's aging parents. It would require a patient partner to say the least. It can be done, with some sacrifice, with the enlisted help of sitters or other relatives, provided adequate notice is given.

We are. And we (nor anyone else, I believe) haven't spoken a word about that night with her. Sometimes the best thing for a victim is the loss of that memory. Who would want to relive a horrible thing like that?

There has been recent cases in other countries of people pushing others in harms way. There are also cases of others pushing someone out of harmsway as the train comes barelling down the track. So the truth will eventually come out.

I definitely will. My friend & I... along with some others... are wondering if he didn't PUSH her.

Let the authorities investigate this one, because she may wake up saying and thinking one thing, having heard what people at her bedside are saying. The real truth will come out shortly.

We went to visit her in the hospital the other evening. I can't believe she lived through it! They had had her sedated for a few days, because she kept trying to pull the tubes out when they'd bring her to. But when we visited her, she was actually awake! She actually doesn't look bad! She lost a front tooth & is swollen. She broke several ribs, ruptured her spleen, messed up her kidney, & had lacerations on her liver. I felt sooo bad for her!

Her boyfriend was with her when it happened. We're very suspicious of what possibly happened. We were out the night after it happened & saw him there with another girl. My friend called the police & left the investigating officer know this.

When we left her room, I told my friend, "I HATE him!!!" I asked why he wasn't there with her & my friend told me he's not allowed there.

Please pray for her. She's 26 & has an 8 year old daughter. She's going to have a loooong road to recovery!

Sorry to hear what happened, wish for speedy recovery. Wait for the truth to come out, there's more to it than what appears on the surface.

Ok. I have a pair of tennis shoes (and I NEVER wear tennis shoes unless I'm covering my peoples' shifts) that squeak constantly, even when I'm walking on carpet! These are not new shoes and should have all the squeak worn out of them by now.

How do I get my shoes to stop squeaking?

Have you tried putting some foot talc powder inside the shoes...maybe they got wet at one time in the rain.dunno

So let me see if I get this correct. Is this to seek clients or the love of your life? Pardon me, I may have read wrong , but is the person that is to be your love interested undergoing counselling?
I read right, this is a placement of an ad, right?

Well Danny, I recall been shy like you for a long time, but it's because I was worried about what people think of me. I don't really care about issues like that now because I am older. I think you will eventually come out of your shell when you feel more comfortable with the people in your surroundings, and perhaps also when you feel you are more independent.

Hello all!

first off keep in mind that everything I am writting is what I am hearing from my friend.
Maybe advice form another female would be best considering it involves a girl

A friend of mine met a girl then 6 moth's later they started seeing each other. He left his ex wife and lived with a friend, in the summer he was suppose to rent the basement from another friend, to be precise, a girl.

This girl he going out with told him she dosen't want him living in another women's house and asked him to move in. She owns the house, He told me he is giving her 700$ per month plus pays all the groceries for him her and her daughter and anything she needs for the house he usualy goes half on.
No he did not put his name on the mortgage.

one month he had three pay checks and she had a fit that he did not give her anymore then the 700 dollars????

I was curious about her mortgage and he says she pays like 450 a month, she lives in quebec.
he has come to me for advice and I am confused so here is what is happening.

He has been there since last april, he tells me that every time they argue she makes him sleep in another room, sometimes for days. She asked him to pay for half of her property tax bill as well? what is that? He tells me he drives her to work in his van and picks her up and she says to him that she does not like being seen in an old van and she is embarassed. what's with that? He ha told so many things.

Just an example, looks like she has been saying comments such as, well isn't nice that you move in here and everything is ready for you, you use my furniture etc.???

There is more but it goes on. But I think I wrote enough.

It seems to me that she is looking for a live in partner for financial gain and not a boyfriend to care for?
I find it very selfish of her?

before I give him advice on this. what are your thoughts.

I can add more info if you need to know more. But Just what I said here makes me sick in a way.

I think she is using him and is very materialistic. what d you think? should he jump ship now or?

regards
John

You are correct.....She is a user....wants all the money for herself there is none so blind as the one in love, who really can't see. He should run, not walk to the nearest lawyer, and get himself good sound legal advice.

There is absolutely no open season, definitely no happy hunting, and before this law came into effect, families were still to remain protective of their young and elderly. Others don't dictate morality for you or your family. Morality
comes from a strong sense of faith, strength and support from ones family, and belief, and respect for oneself and others.

Basically, this bill will allow those who are going thru or have gone thru a sex change to use the bathroom for the sex they are changing to.

One thing wrong with this bill is if you have a daughter who is in the girls restroom or locker room, some pedophile can walk in dressed as a woman and get away with it.

This is just wrong in my opinionEarl

A pedophile is never to be put in the same league, doesn't belong in transgender, or sexual orientation.....but rather a crimianl piranha preying on the innocent.
