I am new to the whole online dating thing. I feel anyone who can't put their picture up has something to hide. I'm not into playing head games so there it is... maybe some people put on their profiles who they WANT to be... then they are just lying to themselves. I am a firm believer in "I am who I am... Don't like it? There is someone out there who will." (hopefully)

something to hide? I can hardly see your pic.

I have read several posts by cs members suggesting that a person needs to tear down "walls" in order to find love, yet I have read time and time again about people being happy, secure, or comfortable being single and even one who couldn't be bothered with a relationship. It would seem these people are building walls? I only ask this because, although I haven't been offically single that long, already I have an almost indecernable yet undeniable feeling if "don't really give a s#$T" growing in my head and frankly find ther prospect terriffing. How does one know if your building walls or tearing them down?

They don't know anything Bob, but there seems to be lots of psychologist out there ready to tell us when we have have a problem and we don't. The individual who suggest that an individual is building walls is usually the one that can't get to you to have their way with you, that's how I interpret it. There are lots of others that will get along just fine with you whether you are interested in a relationship or not.

It says in my profile that my age preference for a man is 48-56yrs.
Now it didn't say you were to be in your twenties because I have child/children in that age group. If you fail to read that info, and you then discovered that I am not interested, it's not that I am rude, it's just that you fail to read between the lines.

Hey honey
how are you today
I want you to know I think of you
each and every day

Is there anything I can do
is there anything I can say
would you like to just hold eachother
would that help you feel special today

Know that you
can always come to me
my heart will always be open
for you to see

It's a lovely evening
look up in the sky
the stars are shinning bright
for you and I

See the Angels
as they dance
we are lost in love
and blissfull romance

Come to me my darling
rest your head on my chest
I love you my Angel
you are the very best..

Gilly,
You have wonderful memories of your auntie, keep those alive. Don't let the hatred consume you. Your father most likely behaved the way he did towards you because his parents did the same thing to him also. Beating was a way of controlling kids, and if you didn't get the message the first time, they would whip you again later on. You are a very intelligent young man, who is capable of achieving great things in life. If your family and relatives don't want to give you their support, then by all means find some friends that will. Believe in yourself, and God will take care of the rest.

I've been dealing with depression issues for most of my life but it seems to be getting worse with each day regardless of medication and therapy.
I have no real friends to speak of.
That is, the kind of friends that will be there when I go through these really dark horrible times.
I'm always trying to fight back this feeling like I want to end it all.
I'm really scared and extremely lonely.

I think talking about it, helps, but if you know what it is that gets you really depress, that's where you start.
Is it work, family pressures, a a break up, something happening in the environment, an illness besides the depression like an underlying physical illness..i,e diabetes?

Number one do people who say these things in their profile, have had such bad experiences that make them say this?
It is very negative and unrealistic.
I lost a loving husband in January 2005, the odd times I find myself cry for just a moment, does this mean I have bagage?

No headgames please. I wonder if those who engage in this are even aware of doing so.
I came to this forum to sincerely find a new relationship.
I believe in honesty and loyalty, I need to trust, without this there is nothing!
My trinity is Trust, Respect and Giving, (of one self)
(Read my profile for the rest)
I could say a lot more but will rest my case for now.
Jenny

I get the feeling they mean someone who isn't playing with their feelings, thus the saying no head games.
We are all capable of something, just what it is, sometimes we donot know.....thus the head games....lol

"JMO... have both one for yourself and a joint account. If there is a break up in the relationship.... you will still have your own account."

That's what I have. I am wondering if there are any pro and cons to having separate accounts. Would welcome experience with this. I believe joint bank accounts is best. Of course there is the trust and maturity factors....

My experience was when I had a joint account wit my ex, my money became his, not vice versa. So I am happy to say I prefer my own.
The negative thing about joint account is that someone other than yourself is watching your money, and has plans for it besides the ones you discuss together. The negative thing about separate account is, if you can't take care of your affairs while ill, and you didn't set up an automatic withdrawal plan with the bank, then your bills may go into arrears, and your partner can't do much to help you in that case without your signature.

Isn't dating someone for awhile, is to discover and learn all about a person, but love him/her anyway?
Isn't dating someone to discover, not only the good things, but also the faults that you can live with?

Don't feel bad about ending relationships when dating. It is how you learn what you want and what you don't want in a person. Hopefully you are learning about yourself in the process.
It is better to discover now, that the the other person is inconpatable than later in a marriage.
thumbs up

Why do people say he is black? Don't white count too?

Obama was born on August 4, 1961, at the Kapiolani Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Obama, Sr., a Black Kenyan of Nyang’oma Kogelo, Siaya District, Kenya, and Ann Dunham, a White American from Wichita, Kansas.

I will tell you why. America has this one drop of blood rule....If you have one drop of black in you then you are black......this would account for far more people than we think. since the master use to be busy with the kitchen cook...if you get the idea.
