I'm a Taurean. However, I used to know a woman who regularly insisted I shouldn't be a Taurean but a Piscian. I would really like to know what she meant by this as she would never explain. Any light?

Maybe she just thought your personality seemed to be more in line with that of the typical Pisces. Or maybe you have the ascendant in Pisces?

What do you think yourself - do you act more like a Taurus or a Pisces?

In the Zodiac... Perhaps a mighty Leo? A sharp Scorpio? A grounded Virgo? An airy Gemini? A Moony Cancerian? A fun-loving Aires?...

And do you believe the characteristics of your sign apply to you? If so, why might this be? Can the planets really decide personality traits? Or are they self-fulfilling prophecies?

And do you believe in daily horoscopes?

I definitely cannot see any logic to this, but equally definitely have seen proof of the characteristic personality traits of different signs. Hmm...

Which do you prefer picnics or barbecues?

What is your favourite thing to eat on a picnic or chuck on a barbecue? Do you have any must-have foods? How do you keep your chocolate from melting under the summer sun? What do you drink in the summer?

And do you know of any good places to picnic / bbq we could share?

Who would you most like to picnic / barbecue with and why?

Hmmm... very tough questions... confused

Pro:s
- picnics can be taken anywhere, and you can always rustle up something to bring along
- bbqs make sure you get a hot meal, and are a lot of fun in their own way (not least by getting to watch the-man-of-the-house-who-would-never-step-closer-than-10-feet-away-from-the-kitchen-stove try to excel at cooking). grin

Con:s
- picnics have a tendency to attract creepy crawlies...
- bbqs have a tendency to get too hot and smoky...

I think it's a toss-up - they're both fun! laugh

What else.. favourite things to eat and drink on these occasions:
picnics: roast chicken, soft French cheeses, little cherry tomatoes, some tasty bread, some delicious rosé wine...
bbqs: burgers, spare ribs, chicken - with bbq sauce, of course!

One of the loveliest places I can think of for picnics (and bbqs, if you bring your own small portable one) is out on one of the little islands in the Stockholm archipelago in the summer - heaven! Hardly any people about, and sunshine, blue water everywhere, good company and good food! Otherwise, any beach is always very nice too - or a little glen in the woods, perhaps by a lake.

I really like the jokes, but there is nothing good about growing old really. It's plain misery. Just another day nearer to kicking the proverbial. And less people we might chat up.

Oh my goodness - did you get up on the wrong side of the bed, and bump your head on the wall? comfort

There are so many great things about growing old - all the experiences you get to have, the wisdom that hopefully comes, feeling better and better about yourself, having grand-kids and great grand-kids perhaps, etc, etc.

Of course it depends a lot on how healthy you are fortunate to be - that's more the issue than age itself. My wonderful grandmother is turning 97 soon, and has always been the most healthy, alert, positive, happy person in our family. It wasn't until this year that she finally had to get a hearing aid, and someone to clean her apartment once a week. She still lives in her own apartment, and does everything else herself. She is a role model for us all.
