I didn't read but the first page of this thread so I don't know if this was mentioned but the woman will probably not survive past the 4th week. It's typical in severe burn cases that at 4 weeks I think it's the liver gives up or is it the kidneys not sure, but thats the critical point in such a severe burn situation.
Of course when (odds are it's when and not if) she dies he will be facing some stiff additional charges.

This is just a horrible and sick thing this guy did. He should rot in jail. (Disturbing, warning!!): click here to read the entire thread »

Forgot whos quote.

This is what I saw when I first read that.
when i am dead , let it be said -my sins were scarlet but my boobs were red. I know, I know.

Found this hope you like it. By Alfred Tennyson.

Come not, when I am dead,
To drop thy foolish tears upon my grave,
To trample round my fallen head,
And vex the unhappy dust thou wouldst not save.
There let the wind sweep and the plover cry;

But thou, go by.

Child, if it were thine error or thy crime
I care no longer, being all unblest:
Wed whom thou wilt, but I am sick of Time,
And I desire to rest.
Pass on, weak heart, and leave me where I lie:
Go by, go by.

That beautiful picture and those wonderful words reminded me of something I got years ago in an email and thought, this is just too good to throw into the recycle bin. Her it is. If this doesn't bring tears to your eyes you are devoid of emotion. It's called "Running in the Rain"

She had been shopping with her Mom in Wal-Mart. She must have been 6 years
old, this beautiful brown haired, freckle-faced image of innocence.
It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over the tops of rain
gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the Earth it had no time to flow down the
spout. Drains in the nearby parking lot were filled to capacity and some
were blocked so that huge puddles laced around parked cars.
We all stood there under the awning and just inside the door of the Wal-Mart.
We waited, some patiently, others irritated... because nature messed up
their hurried day.
I am always mesmerized by rain fall. I get lost in the sound and sight of
the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world. Memories of running,
splashing so carefree as a child come pouring in as a welcome reprieve from
the worries of my day.
Her voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic trance we were all caught in.
"Mom, let's run through the rain," she said. "What?" Mom asked. "Let's run
through the rain!" she repeated. "No, honey. We'll wait until it slows down
a bit." Mom replied.
This young child waited about another minute and repeated, "Mom, let's run
through the rain." "We'll get soaked if we do," Mom said. "No, we won't, Mom"
"That's not what you said this morning," the young girl said as she tugged at
her Mom's arm.
"This morning? When did I say we could run through the rain and not get
wet?" "Don't you remember? When you were talking to Daddy about his cancer,
you said, 'If God can get us through this, He can get us through anything!"
The entire crowd stopped dead silent. I swear you couldn't hear anything but
the rain. We all stood silently. No one came or left in the next few
minutes.
Her Mom paused and thought for a moment about what she would say. Now some
would laugh it off and scold her for being silly. Some might even ignore what
was said. But this was a moment of affirmation in a young child's life. A
time when innocent trust can be nurtured so that it will bloom into faith.
"Honey, you are absolutely right. Let's run through the rain. If God let's
us get wet, well maybe we just needed washing,"
Then off they ran.
We all stood watching, smiling and laughing as they darted past the cars and
yes, through the puddles. They held their shopping bags over their heads,
just in case. They got soaked. But they were followed by a few who screamed
and laughed like children all the way to their cars.
I want to believe that somewhere down the road in life, Mom will find herself
reflecting back on moments they spent together, captured like pictures in the
scrapbook of her cherished memories. Maybe when she watches proudly as her
daughter graduates. Or as her Daddy walks her down the aisle on her wedding
day. She will laugh again. Her heart will beat a little faster. Her smile
will tell the world they love each other.
But only they will share that precious moment, when they ran through the rain
believing that God would get them through.
And Yes, I did. I ran. I got wet. I needed washing.
Circumstances or people can take away your material possessions, they can
take away your money, they can take away your health. But no one can ever
take away your precious memories. So, don't forget to make time and take the
opportunities... To make memories every day!

* I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when our
wings have trouble remembering how to fly.*

I HOPE YOU WILL TAKE THE TIME TO RUN THROUGH THE RAIN !

I should probably stay out of this thread but I was wondering about something. But first, I don't think he was a muslim extremist if he had a Pastor and attends a church. So the whole terrorist theory doesn't wash in my eyes.
I realize the media doesn't always give all the gory details but the truth usually comes out eventually.

What I'm curious about is why he boarded a bus for about an 800 mile trip with a 12" butcher knife? That almost has the appearance of pre-meditation on his part doesn't it? But the young man he killed was a stranger to him therefore between the knife and killing a total stranger he has to be totally insane.

Cultural differences don't make any difference if somebody has an urge to kill. Law abiding citizens come in all shapes and forms.

Acceptance by Westerners.....so your remark about Russians shooting people and having done with it personifies Western understanding?

Thats what makes it unusual, if they guy was white or black I wouldn't have even thought of commenting on his race but it is exactly because he is Asian that it is so hard to believe these 2 heinous crimes were commited by an Asian. It's just not like them.

I agree with your point about cultural differences.

As to the method of execution it is my understanding ( I am probably wrong and I'm sure you will correct me) that this is the method employed in Russia as opposed to lethal injection where everybody worries about the condemned having some pain in the process the way bleeding hearts here in America do.
Anyway, if I misrepresented the Russian justice system I appologize.

Oh thank you. I was wondering what a platitudes was. I thought it was a furry little animal with a duck bill. I'm thinking now why would anybody want to give her a platitude they have a poisonous stinger.

Seriously though, I believe there are people on dating sites that want so badly to get into a relationship with the opposite sex but there is an insurmountable problem which makes it impossible so they start an online relationship and take it as far as they dare til it gets to a point where they just have to shut it down because the next step would bring to light the secret problem. They are already in a relationship they can't get out of, they are way older than they claim, they may be very short and have a major inferiority complex about it, could be almost anything.
I truly believe this is why this happens so many times. Believe me you are not alone in this.

Not one iota! I just thought it was odd that 2 of the most notorious murder cases in recent times were by Asians. It does seem odd given how law abiding Asians typically are. I wonder if it has something to do with cultural differences such as a possible lack of acceptance or understanding by westerners.

Another Asian nut case. Just like the Virginia Tech murders. Sorry Canada, now you will have to feed, clothe, house, bathe, and provide for this guys bodily effluents for the rest of his life. Oh also books, TV, excersize, medical & dental needs.

Sometimes I think the Russians have a better system. A single shot to the back of the head and everybody goes home.

I'd bet 80% of the American public would welcome the Clinton administration back for another 8 years in a heartbeat. We had a thriving economy, a budget surplus and respect from the rest of the world.
Just look at where we are today compared to where we were in the 90's.

Are you guys actually all in the same room? Kinda makes one wonder.

Before Ted Stevens' indictment Tuesday, Americans in the lower 48 knew him primarily as the cantankerous, outspoken advocate for Alaska.

The longest-serving Republican in Senate history, Stevens was indicted on charges of concealing gifts he received from an Alaska oil services company.

Stevens is equally known for his prowess in channeling federal dollars to his home state. For years, he served as chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, exerting his power to secure funding for projects in Alaska ranging from millions for new airports right down to a few hundred thousand dollars for berry research. He's been a champion of Native Alaskans and — like almost all Alaskan politicians — he favors drilling for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

Stevens' son, Ben, has also come under scrutiny, especially for his work as a consultant for companies that need help from his father.

However, the charges announced Tuesday stem largely from renovations to Stevens' house, a modest vacation place in Girdwood, Alaska. In July 2007, FBI and IRS agents swarmed over the place, taking pictures and videos. Federal investigators have charged Stevens with failing to disclose how much help he received in enlarging his home from VECO, a local oil services company, and its chief executive, Bill Allen. According to the indictment, between May 1999 and August 2007, Stevens received more than $250,000 in gifts from VECO, Allen and others. Much of that amount allegedly came in the form of home improvements — including the addition of a new first floor, garage and wraparound deck.

Crude oil is now priced at $121.xx a barrel down $26.xx a barrel from the high in the $147's

I've been trying to alert you all that the crash of oil is coming. Some experts are predicting $70-$80 a barrel. This will give poor to middle class people a much needed and deserved break as well as help our economy to recover like nothing else could. This will also suck the wind out of the sails of people who advocate drilling more oil wells offshore and in our Arctic National Wildlife Reserve.
Instead of trying to solve our energy needs with intelligence, they come up with ham fisted ideas and bandaide patches.

Emanuella, do you believe me now?
