Kicked our butts out of the victorian age. Thanks Salvador.
"Outside of the box" yes, while it is apre paux, it dosen't even begin to cover it. The man decided that "whatever it is, whatever it could be, whatever it wants to be" just isn't good enough. Lets tip the scales and be completely different. He is as close as we will ever get to appreciateing a paradigm shift in our own lifetimes as it will ever come, even those for most of us it was 50 years ago. Many artists had to die to become recognized, he saw a fleeting glimpse of it in his own time. He was able to see that he was realized.

Odd certainly, forward thinking, thats for you to judge, controversial, certainly...the guy is just cool, odd, but cool.

That one is very tough. I love Canada, move to the U.S. did it, loved it but wouldn't do it again. Europe, definately, but I'm pretty sure I'd always miss home.

I didn't get in trouble at work.
I told everybody off.
My cat was very happy to see me, but then I realized it was because I forgot to fill his food bowl up before I left for work.

Beyond that, it wasn't too cold here, not much snow, the heat was on, I had food and a blanket (hmm, well thats just a replacement okay).

Ave Maria, sung by a tenor at my grandfathers funeral. But damn, I wished I had a digital recorder at the time...the guy was outstanding.

Too many commercials, too many pervasive myths, even the reality shows are not real. Oh yeah, and too many people that have slid into needy mode instead of "take what I want" mode.

Hmm, did I say that out loud, I thought I was thinking.

Thats a real hard one to say. After Candlestick they were seriously turned off touring and just did the studio thing, and amazing things they did (gotta give Martin his credits there).
They sponged everything from everywhere to create their sound, and they were at the mercy of the studios at the time. I wonder what they would have become if they really had their own state of the art studio, instead of the apple drop in centre.
I still listen and am in awe, not always because of technological achievement, but for the balls to try what they did.

Wow, lots of different opinions from both sides.
Gotta agree that both sides are guilty of going for looks, it works both ways for most people.

I was married to a great girl, she had three kids of her own and we got along incredibly well. All my friends however, would say, "wow man, you could do alot better than that". wtf?

Later on I had a girlfriend who's name should have been Barbie. We'd go to the beach and every guy is staring. That got boring pretty fast, at first yeah I'm, "wow all these guys think I'm cool", but she was easily the most uninteresting person I'd ever had a conversation with.

So, you just never know eh? Some others have said it and I think its true, if you believe you're sexy, its gonna show.

P.S. Barbie and Ken aren't gonna look like Barbie and Ken 20 years from now, plastic don't age well :)

Why is it that most guys can't see past the looks???!!!!: click here to read the entire thread »

Started with piano when I was a wee one (40 years ago now), then got into Moogs, Arps and samplers.

Over the last 2 years I've moved into digital studio equipment, and yeah, it was a huge pain at first but I love its editing capabilities now.
I record with Cakewalk Sonar 5 Producer and Cakewalk Project 5, treat the waves and create mp3 via Sound Forge.
My dxi/vsti's include, Arturia's Moog V, Moog Modular and ARP2600.
Native Instruments Hammond B4 II (this thing is nasty! a real faithful reproduction of the original.
Lounge Lizard 3 Electric Piano (also a very faithful Rhodes/Wurly).
Cakewalks Dimension Pro which comes with very nice strings, decent grand pianos and a host of basic instruments as well and drums.

Tried singing, but it sounds like Lou Reed, not exactly viable for alot of different styles.

I'm totally addicted to this stuff now, I can produce pretty much anything except horns and guitars.
