For heavens sake Starlin! Not ALL older woman have one foot in the grave. At 55 I have probably more energy than a 35 yr old. I said this once before-I dated a guy 17 yrs younger than me and I ran circles around him. Not only in the bedroom but any physical activity. We older women are wiser to the bull, know how to properly please our men, don't call in work just for a headache, and have learned to take care of our selves. Now I will get off the soap box......

I have my own physical preferences -gene-based, socially or phychologically determined or the freaking Lord knows- but I am still abhorred by that Roman circus thing of the most beautiful or the most ugly. That is just crap that should be over the mental framework of adults, well should be if we were a thing other than humans. I mean, if you have not got to a Buddhist temple and have experienced the ultimate nothing behind everything, then at least you must have had a partner in your lifetime , I mean someone that made your blood boil with passion and desire, and whose sex-appeal to you made your hormones pump signals of perfection to your brain... and after a while what? the mechanisms of adaptaton in your brain or whatever we have, turn all this overwhelming energy in something different, something that can eventually become a calm and strong love, or just plain rejection of the fed-up superficial soul, or the revelation of that individual who has got to know the tremendous ugliness behind the superficial beauty of his/her partner. I just say these words to those who can understand them...

Now there is the subject of fun and all that stuff. I know you are free to choose whatever thread you like. I seldom take part in those that I consider bloody stupid but sometimes I have protested just to meet an argument with any politically-correct idiot who realised he was involved in pulling his pants down as part of a bunch of children doing the same and laughing their heads off and tried to defend himself with any sort of abstract stuff like "shut up and stay out".
Something I learnt in my life is just to conduct my natural sense of humour and sarcasm to more creative regions, and not just make use of cheap stuff to show how funny I am. This is certainly a very relative statement and maybe because I was grown in a different culture and live my life in a different way I do not understand the funny side of others here. In fact, to each one his own stuff.
If variety is necessary then good. I salute to CS for the openness. I am not here looking for someone, I think the whole concept is a little screwed up, but still good luck for those who are doing so. In my opinion, those must be the ones to appreciate Portiea´s opinions the most.

Just to summarise I think the enormous shallowness of many threads just show that love itself -between a man and a woman- , save very rare exceptions, might be based on so many shallow assumptions and misconceptions imposed during the formation of our civilization.
