In response to: non-Christian sources, such as Josephus, the Talmud, Tacitus, Pliny the Younger, and other?
You sure copy other's research and opnions well, as usual, mike.
Josephus mentions Jesus only ONCE in the Antiquities of the Jews. And in the 18th century, the mention of Jesus was proven to be a forgery inserted my a copyist monk.
Josephus doesn't work.
The Talmud? Are you serious?
TThe stories about Jesus were never intended as an attempt at historically accurate narrative. Rather, in the Talmudic style, they "encode legal and theological argumentation in the form of sometimes-imaginative storytelling."
And by mentioning Jesus in the Talmud, do you mean the part where it says Jesus is rotting in Hell in a vat of excrement? Don't you see, Yeshu (it isn't clear if it meant Jesus anyway) is inserted to thwart christians away from their belief.
Tactus..
In response to: Tacitus was a Roman historian writing early in the 2nd century A.D. His Annals provide us with a single reference to Jesus of considerable value. Rather frustratingly, much of his work has been lost, including a work which covers the years 29-32, where the trial of Jesus would have been had he recorded it. [Meie.MarJ, 89]
Did you catch that? 2nd century AD. A little late for eyewitness testimony, wouldn't you say. Tactus is all hearsay.
Pliny the Younger
You mean Pliny the Younger who was born in 61 AD? Again, anything Pliny wrote is hearsay.
You shouldn't use other's opnions on the historical "Proof" of Jesus, especially when they're wrong or inaccurate.
"I am a man of one Book"
Thomas Aquainus
Sounds like you, Mike.
