The 3 "Makings Of" come with the extended version DVD's, as I'm sure you know.
I've watched these over and over as well.
What I wouldn't have given to be a floor-sweeper at those studios.... Absolutely fantastic stuff!!

I have got the Director's cut editions with even more movie and the Makings of on them.Yes a floor sweeper would have done 4 me too just to be around this magic.Even Howard Shore ,the Music composer has exeeded himself with his so far to me unheard of tunes and sound background.Another master in his own league.I can only hope that more Motion Pictures of this kind will be produced.handshake

Like Serenity I've read the LOTR trilogy aswell as the Hobbit, of course and the Silmarrillion, The Lost Road and other stories from the second? age.
I don't think any book I've read up till now has made me weep as much and even go to sleep and dream of it...
Amazing Tolkien refused the idea of it as an analogy..... I think it is one of the most touching analogies of the spirit of man, good and bad, ever written....

I have all three extended versions of the films and thought Peter Jackson did justice overall to the spirit of the books.

What about the "Earthsea" trilogy and movie.
Doesn't hold a candle to Lord of the Rings, of course, but then what does.....?

Hi Breeze
Unfortunatelly i have only read the Hobbit so far so I can't hold a candle talking about the books. Not just these 3 films were fantastic but the Special Features as well like the Beta Work Shop,The Miniature Department.ETC.So far to my knowledge wasn't ever so much effort and hard work spent on any movie. It's just amazing how they built a smaller scale miniature city from ground zero.
I draw my hat to Peter Jackson.A true Master of Film makingwave

Yep - its totally out of control and is also becoming this way in europe, too.

But at least the laws are in place, thus making it much more difficult to obtain or even stoer a weapon.

In the case of your story, if the guy had to go to his home, walk to the room where his weapon was store, find the key to the cabinet, open it, load the gun and then go to shoot his wife, he probably would not even have considered it!!

Its a pity!

Probably true since he was too drunk to walk or drive long distance. But I think screening would have excluded him from ownership.

I still do not understand why gun laws in the US are not stricter.

After all, the days of the cowboy have long gone!

I havwe to agree with michael moore on this topic

Hi Tinymac

I agree with you. There should be better control out there to who can have a gun and who can't.It takes a screening process to keep guns from lunatics but it works in other countries too.

Unfortunatelly I have a true story too to contribute.
When I lived in North Florida there was a Honkytonk a couple Miles down the dirt road where I supplied myself with everyday needs and groceries. The owner Dolly was an older lady who had a smile 4 every patron.About 6 years ago something unheard of happened in our sleepy county that many people will remember 4 the rest of their lives.
Dolly's estranged no good husband was a drinking man who had just another of the many rows with her. That particular day he was heavily drinking at the nearby Santa Fe Salon. After deciding enough is enough he went to his Pick Up and got his shotgun out. Before anyone realized what's going on he walked over to the Honkytonk and blew Dolly's head off in front of all the customers.A dark day in north Florida's history
