When I first turned thirty I fell for a 19 year old young man, and he fell for me. He was a rare find. In many ways more mature than men twice his age. We were madly in love. I felt guilty though because if we had stayed together he would have missed out on so much of what I considered his youth. I think one should be at minimum in their mid to later 20's before committing for life to a relationship. It pained me deeply when I did what I felt like the honorable thing was, to push him away. We remain friends, and he is doing very well.

I wonder that myself sometimes I believe that there are some common traits that women want un a man, but I really think it is somewhat different for most women. The things that I look for, are things that are not so typical as the concenses. Other women may say they want these traits, but usually only in theory. The men they choose are very different from what they have discribed as what they prefer. I usually end up with the type of guy I say I would be interested in (deep, nerdy, and sensitive to others). That doesn't mean the relationships didn't have problems. So I guess I really haven't been much help.

I know that moments like these sometimes stir up some feelings we've basicly resolved. I'm sorry that you had to endure three years of abuse, and what I suspect was more than that just in a more subtle form. It shows your a geniunely nice person you feeling concern for his new wife or wife to be. So in spite of having to put up with his bull you managed to conserve your heart. Good Luck! I don't have to give it up when most guys just try to take it. I have seriously told men that I'm celebate and they don't have a chance. They continue to paw me anyway.
