In response to:
15 May 2008 Department of Geological Surveys released data today indicating that in the last few days an aggressive and rapidly growing Fault-Line has developed along the eastern edge of California. Experts indicate that this could be the big one.

Has anyone been following this story and whether there's any truth to it?

In response to:
what things should you really know about a person before you decide whether to go to bed with them ?

Well, I think it's written somewhere in a very well read and popular book that you should know if you are married to that person first. Also I think it says in several places in that same book that you should be sure they haven't been divorced for cheating or abandoning a spouse. It likewise points out somewhere that you should make sure that person hasn't abandoned a previous spouse for reasons other than cheating. According to those writings, any of the aforementioned reasons should cause you to refrain from sleeping with that person.

In response to:
how do people levitate ? and can people really tell the future ? and move objects with their mind ?

How do people levitate?
An impressive way has to be the Saunder Roe SR.N6. Capable of hiking up on a 8 inch cushion of air, it is highly favored by the UK Navy. Historically, the first recorded design for a hovercraft that allowed levitation was in 1716 by Emanuel Swedenborg, a Swedish designer, philosopher and theologian.

can people really tell the future?
Without doubt people can tell the future. As proof I will predict the future here right now so that such a feat can be independently verified by all.
Today is Wednesday... I predict tomorrow will be Thursday."
I can also make longer term predictions as well if needed.

can people move objects with their mind?
Again, with out doubt. I am moving my fingers right now as I type this with only the power of my mind.

By the way... I'm no more than intelligent than anyone else. I hope that doesn't violate the requirement that only intelligent people comment on this topic wink

Mark Twain once wrote:
“Heaven goes by favor; if it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in”

I've heard some people say the Ten Commandments might be viewed as statements against competition. Don't compete with your neighbor, parents, God.

I think that there's a basic truth here that you cannot "earn" your place in "Society". Trying to figure out if someone is more valuable than another person only fosters competition.

You asked the question who more useful. The answer is no one. Society is not something you can earn your place in. You are just part of it. I think another question might be "Do you think the Government is ensuring that all people are treated as being of equal value."

Treat your fellow members of your society with favor and not based on your perception of whether they merit your prize for being more valuable than the person who is living in poverty. The person who is living in poverty on the street is just as useful but the failures of society have taken that person's well-being.

Eliminate Competition.

Actually there are parts of Canada where there are four perfectly even and distinct seasons. Where I come from, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter are nominally 3 months each when it comes right down to it. Each season has it's own character and serves it's perfect purpose.

Winter, for example, refreshes everything and prepares the way for the new life that the coming of Spring marks. We have no poisonous creatures here, and no big spiders or snakes. Even the mosquitoes are nearly non existent most of the time. We have a nice warm Summer for all to enjoy and a Fall that you could walk for hours in.

There's nothing like it.

There are several things that make us unique from Iowa as well. Almost no gun crime. Universal Healthcare, of the highest quality in the world, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, without need for a credit card or cash.

Like Iowa... perhaps in some ways - but definitely not in others.

Maybe if we offered all the Iowa citizens free healthcare they'll consider becoming the 11th province... handshake

(If your from Iowa and reading this, all you have to do is get a petition going with half your states citizens signatures on it and you can all start calling yer selves canucks eh!)
