Good movie alright, but can somebody explain by what mechanism astrology is supposed to work ? Is it gravity or something and how this does affect people ? How does the fact that when it was invented most of the planets were not know about affect it ? Pluto wasn't discovered until about the 1930's was it ? And has since been reclassified as not being a planet. I'm afraid I'm very much a skeptic

To make exact time wise statements i wll have to look up.

Astrology some call as science and some as a type of psychic technique. It has been known to man since ancient civilisations as mentions are there all around.

Literally as in when todays " science " discovered planets , no it doesnt tally in time. But a lot of ancient knowledge is known to be valid and apparently they were far advanced than we are. Ex - Mayans!!

Astrology is based on the relationship the planets hold to each other in conformity with your time , date and place of birth to accurately calculate. Believing that planetary influences on our life existS. Based on this charts are drawn of supposed alignment of the planets at that point of time and then on as per the planetary cycles thro' out your life and thereby the outcomes are predicted.

This is a simple outline.

as humans we sometimes have to act not only with factual information but with what we perceive, as you might on a date with someone, who may be acting strange say. You may have no concrete information to make a decison to conlcude the date or continue it and we use our 'perception' as you eloquently noted, not our eye to help make this choice.

as to god and perception, there is no need to make that choice, not for me, no one forces me , nor do I feel any threat or failure in not choosing to beleive this perception .... yet ... and I say that because there is something out there, I don't know... a god ... maybe, but there's a lot of possibles and maybes.

wine Thankyou !!! Makes me think.

Okay, but here's one the points I was trying to make with Claire: we don't truly respect viewpoints that differ sharply (in important ways) from our own. That's not psychologically possible.

To illustrate, imagine encountering someone who believes in religious intolerance. Now, if you're Claire - and you're being logically consistent - you'd say that belief is "right for them," and deserving of respect. But of course neither of you would respect someone who held such a belief, would you?

Hmm .. i get it now.

Nope i wouldnt !!

Maybe it would be clearer to say "Each one to their own Faith !!" and no faith ( or religion in the true sense ) in my knowledge advocates mindboggling intolerance. Its man made and interpreted. Its the way the view a halfempty glass. Be it any religion , if there is a creator , why would he advocate destruction. If we are his image why would he make us breed hatred.

So i respect their faith - atheist or pagan or nature or a religious deity or God in any form.

But i refuse to accept a version of faith and made " belief " if the only purpose it serves is brew misery and contempt. Its their perception and i dissociate from it.

Makes sense i hope ..hug

I do think personally this is true if one does believe in a god.

The reason i was saying i refuse to follow certain dictums for the reasons cited as usually the interpretations are which are more annoying than the dictum itself.

Its like i would NOT go to a temple cos God lives only there and i should pray just there. I would rather go cos i feel like and cos it gives me a sense of peace and satisfaction.

hmmm

Never thought of it in this perspective ..

But if belief/ faith is out of conviction (as in with the knowledge you have at that point of time) and yet you keep an open mind to the possibility of more .. it ceases to be a limitation ...

dunno

Belief is purely belief not the individual .. unless you are imposing it on another or using it to evoke chaos .. its another side of their personality.

So atheist or religious .. each one to his own !!

My opinion.wine

Am Here ... grin

Ermm .. my view ?

Frankly, I have a long way to go yet to be able enough to answer even in my sleep.

As for now, I am born in to a religious family . Religious as in where some literally " follow " without insight in to applying it to our life while some follow the true essence of what my religion speaks of.

I belong to the category of " personalized belief ". To keep my post short, I refuse to accept concepts and ideas which attempt to make us superior by virtue of religion and not virtue perse. I refuse to follow certain rules as i am defiant to dictum.

I believe in a supreme creator. I believe in a lot of the logic my religion proposes. The most imp. being tolerance, love and forgiveness and TRY to follow it.

I see all of us as people who want to be happy and loved at the end of the day.

If my faith gets the better out of me when i am blinded by anger or shallowness and helps bounce back to logic i am willing to explore if there is more to what meets my perception ( not eye wink )

hahaWhat I mean is.. everyone's OWN view is Right ... for 'Them'

If that's what you believe.. (you or me.. or whoever).. then great.. that's right for YOU.

But it doesn't mean it is right for someone else... and IMO whoever you are.. your view has nothing to DO with anyone else's beliefs. .. it's YOURS.

and it's no one's place to judge you and say that what YOU believe is wrong. So yes.. I believe MY beliefs are right.. for me.

and everyone else's.. are right too.. for them.

thumbs up very open minded claayer .. hug

I feel that too.

As the quest to know whats behind all creations or spiritual or intellectual growth is quite personal as in " individual ". We can only be guided or aided but the rest is our own journey.

So where we find our comfort zone to believe as per the criteria, pros and cons we have encountered there becomes the niche of our faith. Some of us are happy. Some of us want to know more and more , so we keep searching.

He was a doctor by profession and the rose pill he made for plague !!
Ahh plague was rampat in those times . Apparently he lost his first wife and children to plague.

And one interesting thing is i believe he asked for peoples natal charts for making predictions and was rather uncomfortable when had to do without and made many errors.
