Thankyou all !!

Respect for anothers faith ( in whatever or whomever ) is rare to gather and quite needed today.

But does an atheist view equate to a belief in science and proofs ?
confused

Its little wonder they're called organized religions. Its what people do to align themselves for a purpose or cause or to fend off another's purpose or cause.

Since I think (not believe) god is man made, (because no actual 'god' is unavailable to us), I think man is as close to any god you can imagine; that would allow wars, hate and religious bias, among the myriad of atroshious crap perpetrated in his name.. and yes the good stuff like love, communication, kindness etc ..

and it's about time he (man) got his shyte together.

Never worshipped then Al ?

nothing wrong with voicing a collective opinion... what is wrong is when the collective opinion is not of the majority of citizens yet they get a louder voice and more recognition....

That is a valuable statement!!

What is heard loud is power, money and control dynamics which are aptly camouflaged.

This idea cropped in to my mind while on Indy's thread.

People, what do you believe or have faith in ?

I know this sounds ambigious. But not everyone here is religious.

So do you believe in God ? If yes, what do you believe about him and his teachings ?
Do you follow any particular religion ? If yes/no why ?
If atheist, what is your belief about the existence of a creator or an energy force ?
If none of these , any personalised beliefs ?

PS: This is NOT to debate or put anyone's faith down .

I will not disagree with you at all on those facts. I however must appologize for bringing that up, because I do not want to hijack the thread into a religious discussion.

The "Cities against Islamisation",....when you invite a snake into your home,..you shouldn't be upset when it bites. I believe these cities are begining to understand & want to rid themselves of their snakes.

All you have to do is open your eyes,..they have been around as long as religion has.

The religions we talk about are fairly recent in their evolution comparing all the religions of the world and a true follower would tell you the real interpretation against the man made changes and interpretation in the literal sense which make a great deal of difference.

All religions but do explain the glory of their God but here again we have to remember the scriptures were written by man.

Fireliter thumbs up its so true and sad !!

A little deviation here , sorry Indy :
( I was just browsing for Edgar Cayce .. Diogenes mentioned about him the other day.

"From Cayce's perspective, we are not simply physical bodies or even physical bodies with souls, but are instead spiritual beings who are currently having a material experience. As souls, we have manifested in the earth in order to learn lessons that will enable us to return to our former state of spiritual awareness. At the same time, one purpose we all have in common is to bring the spirituality of the Creator into the earth. The goal is to fully express love in all the challenges which physical life offers.")

Think about it , as has been extensively debated on the God and God delusion thread ,
the ones perpetuating viloence in the name of religion be it UK or US or elsewhere , dont actually seek a solution but are towing towards meeting their " means '.

" Do we tolerate their attempts to Islamisation of our world " as would be asked is similar to the uproar in the east " Do we tolerate the christanisation of our people "
In different ways by accepting or by protesting we acknowledge their power to influence when we actually have the power to decide if we will aceept it or ignore it.

dunno

When you choose to hire for less wages you will always bring those "out of towners" in... then they will not want to leave your land of prosperity.( cant really blame them can ya?).

If history serves me correct theres a few countries in the past 50 years that did exactly that.. allowed immigrants /migrant workers in, then before they realized what happened the make up a substanial amount of that very countries citizenry.

that brings change, drastically new languages on store signs, restaurants gathering places lifestyles overtake the streets....

So to those protesting, either you, your parents, or grandparents opened the door for them...

Cheap labor...getting something for nothing does not exist eventually a price will be paid usually its gonna be higher than one could ever imagine.

Most inhabitants do not really care about another's beliefs... when those that have a certain belief start taking away from them however its on and religious and ethnic reasons will always be used.

Immigrants is not about " cheap labour ". I mean all of them. And the cheap labour we speak about havent got enough education or are aiming for financial security when they left home and are hardly the ones who brew up trouble. Yes they are easy victims though.

The real troublemakers do not need to be immigrants and are fairly well educated. And as known to us , many times process the whole activity from far away places.

I feel we already have enough divides in the world and by terming people as outsiders we add more divide to our own world ( belongs to all of us )

The key here is not making people living on your own land more alienated but accepting and gathering momentum in favor of the land they live in.

My personal opinion.

Hi girlnextdoor wave

Arranged marriages are and have been the trend in most of the East for decades now.
Only in present times we have begun to witness a slow change towards choosing your partner and it is quite often termed " westernization "

What happens is the family chooses a match based on many criteris. Family background ( lot of other family details ) , horoscope matching ( most of the times) , location , occupation etc.
Sometimes dep. on te family outlook the boy/girl have a say in the matter. And that is it.

In recent times, love marriages have cropped in to the scene. Even then usually it is within the culture , religion and sometimes community and the rest of the ritual and ceremonies follow likewise.

Ermmm.. Are arranged marriages successful ? Considering this is a time old trdition and divorce rates stilll havent gone upt hat far .. yes they are !!!

Do the partners love each other ? We are talking about a society where Education is limited to the man or woman who are educated like to fit in to the society mould. Further, familt dynamics is based on a large value system and caring and compromising so they do love each other in many cases.
On the other hand, if we cosider " one doest miss what one is unaware of " this holds good with a large section to. The lack of options to make a choice.

Its a gamble like in a love marriage but a bigger gamble at a personal level and lesser at the family and society level.

I was thinking .. a religious quote " To tolerate oppression is just as bad as oppressing or witnessing it "

Think about it .. the bottom of the chaos lies in the need to prove one's belief , principles and even " God " superior so that one's faith is the glorious one and one proves himself worthy of his God's favor.

But thats contrary to what faith or conscientious living is about.

While on the other hand , by voicing our distaste or even disgust of the others ways , we are indirectly acknowledging that they are succedding or letting them gain a foothold.

I am not saying silence is the answer. But, until the cause remains what we are dealing with are just the offshoots which is inconsequential to a great extent.

Like adding fire to fire.... dunno

Ermmm ...

I think this was bound to happen !!!

Just as the extermist sections have tried their best to vandalise peace and make a obvious stand , going a full circle , now the ones who have been watching will find it compelling to voice their opinion.

I see it this way ... once there is an imbalance and there is one trying to dominte another , i guess we have enough of history to indicate to us where it leads to.
